(Ollie's POV)

"Q, what have you done?"
"Trust me, I sense something there. I don't usually use my powers for that anymore unless I have a strong feeling."
"You had no right to do that. What happens if you're wrong?"

I didn't make the connection at that moment that Q had, quite literally, struck me with cupid's arrow. I didn't realize it until it was far too late and it no longer mattered. I fell deeply in love with Leora and she with me. She became one of the most important people in my life and helped restore my family's glory.
I wouldn't give up my refuge in Leora for anything in the world.

This is our story.

(Leora's POV)

I started feeling sick again. I haven't been feeling well today, but I was trying to welcome Ollie, Laura's younger brother, to the Esper Union.
As a captain, it's important to build relationships with comrades early on. The handsome newcomer next to me now was no exception. He wasn't that much taller than me, although I wasn't sure how old he was.

"It must be hard for you being new to the Union," I said to him, and he turned around to look at me. His green eyes gazed into mine. An intense gaze...
I briefly notice his lime green lips before I quickly look back into his eyes.
I continued, "I understand how you feel-"
"No you don't," He abruptly says. He barely blinks.
"Oh. Well, I was once part of the Shadow Decree-"
"I've only joined the Union for my sister's sake. Otherwise, I work alone."
"Oh. Um. I guess we can get to know each other later—"
He huffs as he walks off l, as if I had wasted far too much of his time. For such a handsome guy, he really seemed like a huge jerk. As one of the most powerful people in our world, I shouldn't have been so surprised.
His face and his eyes look warm and inviting, but his demeanor is the opposite. I won't give up on him yet! But for now, I'd leave him alone.
For now, I needed to just get through training and I could focus on calling it a day early and have a much needed rest.

I get onto the training ground. My arenaline is pumping as our battle begins. I'm really teaching my comrades a thing or two...Suddenly, something doesn't seem quite right. I get pain and then, when I wake up, I'm in a hospital bed.
I turn to the side and see Ollie next to me.

"How did I get here?" I couldn't help but ask
Ollie quickly turns and looks at me furiously.
"You don't remember?" he sounded bewildered that I wouldn't have the slightest clue what was going on.
"No," I quietly responded.
What had happened? I heard the heart monitor detect a faster heartbeat next to me. I knew it was my own heartbeat.
He sighed.
"Your heart stopped beating. I had to use my Esper powers to revive you."
"What?" I was confused. How did my heart just stop beating? It was beating strongly, even now. I was healthy and fit as a fiddle. I worked hard and trained every single day.
"You were anemic and underweight. The doctor said so."
I look at him, processing what he is telling me. He then glares at me.
"What would have happened if I wasn't there? I don't even know you, but no one else could have saved you."
"Thank you for saving me. But why are you angry?"
Tears fill my eyes, and I can't see him anymore. I blink, letting them fall down my face.
He starts swearing.
"Ollie! What did you say to this poor young lady?" I heard Laura come into the room, "She nearly died! What is wrong with you?!"
He didn't respond.
"Get out," Laura says.
Ollie does as she requested and walks out.
"Don't cry sweetie!" she rushed over to comfort me, "My brother can be a real asshole sometimes."
I started laughing a little through my tears.
"Just ignore his attitude, he isn't the best communicator. We're all glad you're alright and still alive with us. I mean it."

...

While I'm resting later that night, I hear someome come in.
"Leora...so that is your name."
I stir awake. When my vision is focused, I see that Ollie's returned to see me. But why?
"Oh! Did I wake you up?" He looks a little startled.
"Yes," I nodded. I don't have much to say to him.
"Should I leave?"
"Why did you come back? What do you want?" I asked him. I noticed he had a bouquet of lilies with him.
"I wanted to come back to... apologize."
"Wow. I didn't think you were the type to give a girl flowers," I admitted.
He handed me the flowers and I gladly took them. My first bouquet! I sniffed them gently.
"Do you like them?" He asked.
"They smell so lovely."
"My temper gets the better of me sometimes. But it's not an excuse. I will do better."
I suddenly notice his green hands.
"Is that part of your Esper powers?" I ask.
"Hmmm?"
"Your green skin."
"Oh. Right. Yes. I'm Osiris reincarnated."
"Oh."
"Your Esper reincarnation is Athena, right?"
"Yes."
"That was a good guess," he said.
I nodded.
"Anyone else come to visit?" He asks.
I hear the beep signaling that my next dose of pain medicine is being dispensed.
"No."
There was an awkward silence between us.
"There's one more thing you have to do so that I forgive you," I blurted out. I had to break the ice with him.
He looks so confused and irritated at the same time.
"What is it?"
"Give me a kiss."
His cheeks go pink and I start to giggle. Is that all it takes to embarass him?
"What in the world? What medicine do they have you on?"
I'm still giggling. I feel like nothing can hold me back.
"If this is your attempt to charm me, it's not working. Get better and try your best attempt another time."
Suddenly, he takes my hand and kisses it. His lips on my hand are so soft. A bold sensation shoots downwards....
"Just this once, I'll reward you for a bold effort," he says, looking into my eyes while holding my hand.
"Wait, that's not enough for me," I gushed, "Your kiss made me feel tingly inside."
His eyes widen and his face grows more pink.
"You're not of sound mind right now. I shall take my leave."
I'm not sure what I said, but I was having such a fun time I didn't care.
"Good night Ollie! Ollie Ollie oxen free!"
Ollie is muttering something and swearing as he leaves and I am laughing at his expense.
