(Leora's POV)

I was at home, sitting near my phone in the kitchen. My apartment had to be downgraded to a studio. I didn't mind it so much, since I was able to spend weekends with Ollie. I had to workout twice a day during the week since I only worked out for four days now. From Friday to Sunday, I spent all the time in the world with Ollie at his place. I even visited if I was on my period. He'd order takeout from one of his favorite places to eat and we would either talk for hours or watch a movie. Sometimes all of the above.

Ollie had collapsed today from exhaustion at HQ. To not raise any suspicions, I refrained from seeing him at the hospital. I wanted to be near him, so badly, but I knew better. I did speak with his sister, Laura before I had left HQ:

"How is he doing?" I asked.
"The doctors said that he would be fine," She began, "But he wore himself out to exhaustion. His body couldn't press on. He's been burning up with a fever too."
She frowned at me.
"You look worried sick. Are you sure you don't want to go see him?"
"No. I have no reason to," I said.
"When I bring him back home, I'll send you a text."
"Got it" I nodded.
"If he wakes up, do you want me to tell him anything?"
"You can tell him I hope he feels better as soon as possible," I smiled.

Suddenly, my phone notification went off. I looked down, and surely enough it was Laura. I rushed to grab my things and decided to take the subway to uptown to get there as quickly as possible.
When it got to uptown, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. There was no one in sight. Perhaps it was my paranoia.
Ignoring this feeling, I quickly rushed to Ollie's. I took the back entrance, as usual, so it would be difficult to determine how to get to the apartment.
I took the fire exits up towards the top floor, as usual, then I got into the elevator. Then I went to the fifth floor, as usual, and used my microchip key. I had one implanted at the start of the month. It was more secure than carrying a physical key.
Security greeted me as usual, they were used to seeing me here. They were loyal workers of the Ramses family and would never leak any information.
I finally entered the second door which led to the hallway of the penthouse. I finally got to Ollie's front door.

"Ollie?" I called out for him as I entered his home.
I decided to bring a glass of water for him before going into his room. I could hear him groaning in pain, calling for me. My heart felt like a knife had twisted into it.

(Ollie's POV)

Just once more. Just one more hit. Then I could take a break. Gaius was calling out for me as everything went black.....

I could suddenly hear that my sister, Laura, was upset. I sat up, quickly getting dizzy.
"Lay down, Ollie. You blacked out."
I didn't argue. I didn't feel good.
"I should really bring him back home," I heard my sister say.
"We have to monitor him first. He has pushed himself to exhaustion and also has come down with illness. His fever is running high. If we can stabilize the fever, he can go home."
I needed Leora. I know she would run to comfort me. She could rub my body and get rid of this burning and aching.
"Why is he calling for General Leora?" I heard the nurse ask.
Had I been calling Leora's name? I didn't even realize it...
"Maybe he's having a bad dream? She is strict!" Laura said.
Leora. Where are you? Will I see you soon?
"Wow. She must really train him hard..."

....
I don't know when I woke up, but Laura was nagging me to wake up so we could leave.
"Come on, Ollie. Let's get you home."
"Where's Leora?" I asked my sister, "Why hasn't she come to see me?"
Laura looked around to make sure no one could hear.
"She'll be coming to see you later," my sister reassured me, with a smile.
"Why didn't she come here?" I repeated.
My sister looked away.
"Too many eyes, Ollie."
I sighed.
"Let's go then. Take me home, please."
I hated how Leora and I had to keep our relationship a secret. I had been working so hard to take the leadership exams. I had even started training with Gaius. Now how long had I been set back for?
I had to lean on Laura. I still wasn't feeling like myself...

I was shaken awake by Laura in the car.
"Ollie you're burning up again. Do we need to go back to the hospital?"
"I'm fine!" I said, a little too harshly. I took a deep breath and calmed down, "Just help me get inside. I'll sleep it off."
Laura didn't tell me off like she usually did. She just quietly helped me inside. I heard the security guards gasping, but my sister reassured them she had it under control. We finally made our way inside. The familiar comfort of home...
"Leora should be over any minute," Laura said to me, "I messaged her some time ago to give her enough-"
"Just help me get to bed. My head hurts."
I didn't care whether or not she turned up now. She could come running to me as soon as I got home, but after I had passed out she didn't even try to come see me. I needed her there, and she was nowhere to be found.
"Do you want me to get you anything?" my sister asked.
I didn't respond as I threw myself into bed.
...
I was in pain, but I felt too weak to even take off my clothes. I was in a daze. Too tired to sleep and too tired to get up from bed.
Where are you Leora? Laura said you'd be here any minute.
I heard glass break.
"Ollie!"
I hear her trembling as she tries to take off my clothes. I start to hear her crying.
"Save it," I curtly tell her, "You didn't even come to see me in the hospital."
"Ollie, let me help you."
I push her away, but she doesn't give up as she starts to undress me. I feel a slight relief from how warm I have felt since coming back in. I'm completely naked now. She took off every last piece of clothing. Normally, by now, I would be hard. I did feel slightly turned on, but I was going through pure agony. It was the very last thing on my mind.
"I'll bring you fresh clothes and help bring down your fever! Don't go anywhere."
"Where am I going?" I ask her, sighing.
Every inch of me felt sore and hot. I groaned. Why did this happened to me? I must have caught a flu or something. When would I get another chance to train for the leadership exams? My body failed me. I would have to continue living like this until next year. I started crying. I couldn't stop. I hadn't broken down like this in years.

(Leora's POV)

I quickly gathered up Ollie's dirty clothes before dashing out of the room. I took them to this laundry room and I then raced to the kitchen and started filling up buckets with ice and water. I ran around the apartment since I needed to get some soft handtowels to help bring down his fever, and fast.
As I came back into the room, I could hear Ollie crying.
"Ollie! Are you hurt anywhere?"
He turned away from me.
"Go away...leave me here."
I was taken back. Ollie never said something like this to me before. I touched him gently near his head.
"Ollie. You're burning up with a bad fever let me help you-"
He turned around, snatched the cool cloth I had brought, and it caused me to drop the ice water bucket I brought with me.
"Get out."
I had never heard him so angry before.
I quietly agreed and stood up to leave him.
Sudden pain shot through my feet. I had forgotten the clean up the broken glass from earlier. I started sobbing.
"Why on Earth are you crying for?" Ollie asked.
"I hurt my feet," I whimpered, "I forgot to clean up the glass and..."
I heard him getting out of bed.
"No! You're in no position to be moving about!"
Like expected, Ollie started panting heavily and got back into bed.
"Call Drew..." he said.
I managed to get my cell phone out of my pocket and called up Drew.
"Hello?"
"Hi Drew, it's me, Leora."
"You sound upset. Is everything alright?"
"I'll explain more later. Bring a doctor if you can. Ollie has a horrible fever that wont go down and I have stepped on glass and it's too painful for me to move."
"My goodness! What on Earth? I will get there as soon as possible."
"Stop crying," Ollie commanded.
"I can't help it, I'm sorry," I managed.
Nothing was said between us as I stood there in pain. I had to try and move, but I ended up slipping and falling onto the floor. I started sobbing again.
"I'm sorry I didn't come to see you Ollie. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I should have tried to make up an excuse—"
"You're hysterical. Calm down," he said gently.
He was right. I needed to try and calm down. Getting hysterical wasn't going to solve anything.
"Ollie. Talk to me."
No response.
I prayed that Drew would get here soon...in the meantime, I started trying to remove the glasses pieces in my foot while fighting back tears...
