(Leora doesn't have a last name in the Dislyte storyline yet. At this point in time, the surname "Foster" will be used)
(Leora's POV)
It had been another busy day at the Esper Union so far. The leaders of the Union had recently gotten some very promising leads on the whereabouts of Shadow Creed research locations that could be invaded and destroyed. We would take their intel and destroy any questionable or unethical research.
I was excited, but very nervous, about the potential for one of the biggest missions since heading to the desert with Ye Suhua and Elaine. I wondered about the young boy I had helped, Cory. I hoped he was doing well...now that I thought about it, I hadn't heard from him in a while.
I was looking for Ollie, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Miss Leora. I was looking for you."
I turned around and saw Drew. He looked a bit worried about something.
"Hi Drew. Have you seen Ollie anywhere?"
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," he said, "Have you seen what has happened?"
"No, what's happened?"
My phone started going off.
"Can I get that? It might be Ollie."
"Of course," Drew nodded, "Maybe it's better that he tell you."
I took out my phone and surely enough, it was him.
"Ollie. I'm a little worried. What's going on?"
Ollie took in a deep breath and sighed.
"I haven't been given much time, but I need to talk to you. We have to make a decision about our future. Starting right now."
I blinked, trying to process what he was telling me.
"I know this is sudden," he added, "But I want to know what you want."
"Well," I said, "I love you Ollie and I think we are going to be together for a long time—"
He scoffed.
"You 'think'? What gives you any doubt about us being together? This is the first time you've said something like this to me—"
"I just mean, what if something were to happen to one of us? It's bound to happen during combat or another Miracle."
"Oh. I see what you mean."
He paused a moment.
"All I mean is," he continued, "Generally speaking, are we just 'for now' or...for the rest of our lives?"
"I want to be with you for the rest of our lives," I quickly answered, smiling, "Whatever that looks like, I want to stay by your side."
Ollie sighed in what sounded like relief.
"I wish you were in front of me right now."
"So do I," I replied, "Where are you?"
"I've had to stay home because of the recent turn of events," he said, "I'm surprised no one has come to you yet."
"Drew was about to tell me something, but he said it would be best if you told me."
Ollie was silent for a minute.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Sorry. I'm still here."
"It's ok. I was wondering if we got cut off or something."
"Drew's right," he said, "I'll go ahead and tell you..."--
(Ollie's POV)
Our decision had been made, and there was no going back now.
I started heading to the podium that had been set up for me. I was making an official announcement to the media as the head of the Ramses Family. I had made sure to dress nicely, hiding my green neck under a turtleneck, wearing a sharp blazer, dress pants, and shoes. I made sure to comb my hair and keep my green glasses on.
My heart was pounding in my chest. I was excited but anxious about the future.
"Good evening, citizens of Gyrate," I began, "I am Ollie Ramses, the head of the Ramses Family. Our company has been undergoing restructuring after the sudden death of my Father, Lateef Ramses. May his soul be at rest..."
I couldn't help but feel conflicting emotions about my father. Him unknowingly betraying me with Nicole would still haunt me for the rest of my life, but I still loved him. For the most part, he was a good Father.
"But that isn't why I am here," I continued, "I wanted to directly address the recent breaking news story that has been broadcast worldwide. Journalists and paparazzi have violated international law by breaking and entering into the Esper Union headquarters to document the budding relationship between me and General Leora Foster."
Journalists and other members of the press started frantically taking pictures of me. Was I making history just by telling the world I had a significant other?
"My answer to these news reports is 'yes'. It is true that we are together. In fact, she is my fiancé. We haven't set a date yet, but we appreciate continued privacy as we continue to court each other."
The journalists started frantically taking more photographs and started asking questions.
"Thank you, and goodnight."
I heard frantic voices over and over again as the journalists tried to ask me questions before I left the podium.
