It had been three days since we had been at the cinema. The clock was 08.30 am and school had just started for the day. since there were only four students in this class, which was a big class, we were all sitting in the front. Shoko was closest to the window, then me in the middle towards her, Suguru beside me again, and closest to the door was Satoru.

Our teacher Yaga was surprised that all four were attending his class at the same time. It was common for Satoru or Shoko to skip classes. And they often dragged with them me or Suguru.

Yaga cleared his throat to get our attention. "Today there won't be a normal class, Satoru you're going on a solo mission while Suguru and Sora will be going on a mission together. Shoko you're going to be training on your reversed cursed technique alone today." He said surly.

"Satoru your mission is for once easy, you just have to get rid of all the remaining curses at a school, I will give you the location after I have sent Suguru and Sora away on their mission," he said as he turned his attention at us.

"Your mission is to kill a 1-grade curse, I'm sure you too being one of the stronger ones, can easily do this one too. It's located right outside of Tokyo. Suguru I will send you the coordinates. Once you're back please come find me." he said as he made his way towards Satoru to give him the information he needed.

"Let's go Sora, the quicker we get this done the faster we get the day off," Suguru said as he walked out of the classroom with me right behind him.

The drive wasn't a long one, there had been this one time we had to drive for hours just to kill a 2-grade curse. So, this was quite pleasant. The car came to a stop, and we got out of it as the driver drove away leaving us behind for now. Waiting for us to get done could be a risk to his life, we never know how much space we need to exorcise a curse.

Me and Suguru stood at the entrance of the woods where the curse spirit was supposed to be. "It shouldn't be too far off from here; I can feel its energy." He said while looking in between the trees.

We started walking towards the source of this strong negative energy. It wasn't far off, the aura felt heavy and depressing. Why the cursed spirit was in the woods was a good question. Cursed spirits normally keep themself in the city, the more negative energy the more curses. Since curses feed from people's negative energy, they are often around where there are more people.

So, to have such a strong curse this "far" off the city isn't normal. Grade 1 isn't the strongest, the only stronger ones are called special-grade curses. The lower the grade is the weaker the curse is. I normally exorcize everything from grade 5 to 2 alone, and grade 1 with a partner. The higher-ups only send the strongest jujutsu sorcerers alone to fight a grade 1 or a special grade cursed spirit. Satoru is therefore most of the time on solo missions. Suguru could also defeat this curse alone, but I guess Yaga wanted me to train in combat against a grade 1 curse today.

"Ahh there it is, eww it's so ugly," I said. It was tall and muscular, with four eyes and a blue undertone. It was dancing around like a creep. Did we have to fight that? times like this I do regret a little that I became a jujutsu sorcerer.

"let's attack him with a back attack, you go left, and I go right," he said ready to summon a few tame curses. There was a reason why Suguru was a special-grade sorcerer, he had a cursed technique to summon curses that he had already exorcised. There was of course a cost to this, he had to absorb them aka swallowing them. and they did not as he had complained about many times before, taste good.

I started to run to my left towards the curse, I only got a few meters ahead before the curse noticed us. It went straight towards me, fast. I summed a black hole in front of me, giving me a few seconds to get away from the incoming attack.

The curse stopped just before it was about to run into the black hole, but its arm hadn't been as lucky as the rest of its body. It was cut straight off its body because it had gone far enough into the black hole. Sadly, cursed spirits can heal on their own, so cutting off an arm won't get you far.

Normally on weaker curses the size of the black hole I had just summoned would be enough to suck them in and cut them up like sausages, but since this wasn't a weak one, I had to summon a much bigger one. A big black hole took up a lot of cursed energy, so I normally don't summon a big one.

Before the cursed spirit could try to attack me again, a different cursed spirit attacked it. I saw Suguru in the distance standing next to another one of his curses. Before the main cursed spirit could kill Suguru's low-level curse I started to summon a bigger and a lot stronger black hole.

It didn't take long for the grade 1 curse to kill Suguru's curse. I knew it would be heading towards me again to end what it had started. but I was ready with a much bigger and stronger black hole, even a grade one curse like it could not outstand getting sucked into it. It would have been an easy win for us if it hadn't gone for Suguru instead.

The curse was one of the faster ones. If you weren't used to seeing curses daily, it would have looked like it had been teleported. Suguru was a good 10 meters away from me, a good distance for his technique. And I was only around 2 meters away from the curse, the best distance for my technique.

I had only taken a breath before the curse had slaughtered the other summed curse from Suguru. Luckily Suguru was skilled in combat, so this would be fine. Or so I thought.

One second the curse was dancing around him while he was throwing punches and then the next Suguru was thrown hard through at least five trees. On the sixth one, he hit and fell to the ground, knocked unconscious.

"SUGURU!!!" I screamed as I started sprinting towards him. He better not be hurt; if he is then I will kill him. Before I could reach him, the cursed spirit had lifted me by my neck and threw me a few meters. It wasn't as powerful as Suguru's throw had been. There could be two reasons for that. firstly, it had wanted to kill the strongest of us first, or secondly, he had wanted to knock out Suguru just to toy with me till I died. The thought of that made me feel sick to my bones.

I landed hard on my ass; ouch, I would not be sitting down properly for a while. When I got on my knees, I realized that this was the perfect distance for a big enough black hole to kill the curse. The only problem was that I wasn't sure if I would survive that.

the thing with my cursed energy is that I can't use too much of it before it too affects me. This is the main reason why I don't fight grade 1 and special grade curses alone, it can easily become suicide. When a curse gets sucked into my black hole, it cuts them up. So, you can imagine what will happen to me if I use too much. I'm not sure if it will cut me into pieces, but it would cut deep.

The black hole that I had started to summon was at least 3 meters to both sides. It doesn't suck in the trees around since it only can suck in things with enough cursed energy to be considered a cursed spirit. This also means a jujutsu sorcerer can be sucked into it.

Small cuts started to appear on my arms and legs, I bit my tongue to keep the pain at bay. As I expected the curse got sucked into it, and unluckily for me that also properly meant that my time had also come. What a stupid way to die, at least I saved Suguru.

The cursed spirit went into a flame of purple indicating that it had been exorcized. I let go of the black hole and fell on my stomach. I could feel bigger wounds opening all over my body, at this rate I would very soon bleed to death.

I wish that somebody would have been holding my body, or at least my hand. Who was the last person to hold it? Oh, right it had been Satoru. I wondered how he was doing; he had probably finished his mission. Oh, how I longed to be in his warm embrace or to hold his warm hands against my cold face. I don't want to die alone.

A strong metal taste filled my mouth, and a strong smell of blood filled my lungs. Everything started to fade into blackness as my last thought was about Satoru's kind smile.
