Satoru's pov

I had just gotten back from my solo mission when I got a call from Suguru. Were they already done with them? If that's the case, then I would be impressed not gonna lie. "Halloo Suguruu, you done with your mission? I have to say, I'm impressed that y'all got done before me." The other end of the phone call was quieter than it should have been. "Satoru... it's Sora." My body froze in the middle of a staircase.

"What happened? Is she hurt badly? Please don't tell me she's dead." I said while a panic settled in my body. "Satoru listen to me, get Shoko and warp here as fast as you can, okay? She is still alive, but I'm afraid she might not be if we wait another second." Suguru's words got my body in motion again. "I will be right there," I said as I started to run up the stairs and made my way to the nurse's room.

There I found Shoko texting away on her phone. She looked up at me bored as I made my way into the room. She understood by my panicked face that something bad had happened and that they needed her assistance.

When I had finally warped Shoko to where Suguru and Sora were, we found them with Suguru trying to keep her from bleeding to death. I had seen a lot of blood throughout my life, being the strongest did not always have its perks. There were many people who had tried to take my life, the only way to get rid of them was to kill them.

Shoko got quickly to work, putting her hand on Sora's back and slowly enchanting her body with a reversed curse technique. I was guessing the reason she was still on her stomach and not on her back was because it would have been too risky to move her cut-up body.

I wish I could take all her pain away, a person like her should not feel so much pain. "She is stable enough now to warp her back to the school." When I heard Shoko say that I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Sora was lying lifeless in the bed in the nursing room at the school. Shoko had said that she most likely was gonna stay in a coma for anything between a few days to a few weeks.

After Shoko had done everything, she could do for Sora, she helped Suguru, even if he insisted that he was okay. We both knew he wasn't, he had broken a few ribcages and gotten his arm badly dislocated. I knew he felt guilty for Sora, I too felt guilty.

The curse they had fought had not been a grade 1 but a special grade. I don't know what the higher-ups were thinking, our teacher knew nothing about it. Was they trying to get rid of Sora? I just don't understand why. Her cursed technique is strong, but not dangerous or unbeatable. Then what was the reason they wanted her dead?

While I sat at her looking over her making sure she was fine, I kept thinking of this. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice Nanami coming through the door. "How is she?" he said with a depressive tone. I was surprised to see him, I didn't think he would want to see her, after everything that had happened to his classmate last year.

"Shoko says she will be awake soon enough, that we should just give her time," I said looking at her barely breathing body. Nanami took a seat at the chair next to me. He looked at me with his normal serious face, or maybe there was something else in it today, an empty sadness.

"Do you know why the higher-ups went after her like this? I mean she had Suguru, but they don't normally send him alone either to handle a strong special grade" Nanami sat almost as still as Sora said. I looked at him, of course, he would have taken notice of this too, he was one to notice details and patterns.

I looked back at Sora, keeping an eye on her eyes in case she would open them. "No, I don't know. And it is bothering me. It can't be her technique, then maybe it has something to do with her past." "Her past?" Nanami asked feeling more interested in the conversation now. "Yeah, I mean nobody here really knows anything about Sora's life before she went here. I only know that her parents were murdered and that she saw them die, but I don't know anything more than that".

Just as if the mention of her parents Sora opened her eyes for the first time in a week. I sprung up from my seat and quickly was at her side. Nanami understood what had happened and mumbled that he would get Suguru and Shoko and then he was already gone.

"Sora, you're awake, your lazy potato," I said trying my best to sustain the big smile that was making its way on my face. "Good morning to you Satoru, this might have been one of the best night's sleep I have ever had. It feels like I have slept for a week. By the way, why are you here? And why am I sleeping in the nurse's room?" she said looking around with confused eyes.

"Well first of all you did sleep for a week, and secondly you passed out while fighting a special grade with Suguru remember." Seeing her body moving and breathing like a normal person was one of the best feelings I have ever felt. I don't care if these feelings are normal or not, I'm just so happy she is alive and awake.

Suguru and Shoko came walking into the room, the joy on their faces when they saw Sora being awake. "If you had died, I would have killed you," Shoko said as she drowned Sora in a big hug, that was soon followed by Suguru. "I don't know how you would have been able to do that, but I can promise you that I won't die again," Sora said laughing.
