season two, episode eighteen & nineteen - part one

"THE AFTERMATH" + "THE PRINCESS PRIDE"

-

Today was just an aftermath episode, thankfully, so we had the day off while the show streamed on some of the TVs in the cafeteria. Me and Lindsay did each other's nails and skincare, while she talked to me about boys (mostly Tyler) and other things.

She had more experience with relationships than me, so ranting to her about everything that was happening with Courtney felt like a weight off my shoulders.

As much as I didn't want to forgive my best friend, she was drunk and still seemed to care about me. If anything I could maybe settle to just be friends again, I did miss her.

The day was boring and I saw Duncan try to talk and flirt with her a few times, but she either ignored him or yelled at him to say how annoying he was. It gave me a little bit of hope as I drifted off to sleep that night dreading the next day of challenges.

-

Well, I guess what I said about me and Courtney being friends again turned out true considering everyone else still on this show is a bunch of airheads.

Duncan was currently holding a 'biggest burrito contest', which was everyone sculpting things out of their breakfast to see whose burrito would be the biggest. Courtney called the challenge stupid, and Duncan even stupider which I agreed with so we sat together on the table across from all the other contestants who were intensely molding their burritos together. We scooted down towards the edge of the bench once Duncan stood on our table barking orders at all of his stupid game competitors.

"This whole thing is pretty stupid, huh?" I scoffed eyeing the others before back at Courtney who looked up from her PDA smiling at me.

"I know right! We're gonna win at this rate if they keep doing this stupid stuff instead of getting their heads in the game." I nodded in response moving closer to her and glancing at the PDA.

"Now that it's merge, though, do you wanna work together? Everyone else here is pretty... not good at this game, to put it nicely. I like that you're still trying to get somewhere here." I smiled as her eyes lit up at my offer while she nodded her head profusely.

She turned the PDA towards me and started to explain her strategies and tactics for the game, most of them being who each person would likely vote for and how to persuade them on our side. I forgot how cute she looked when she ranted about things she was passionate about...

"Ten more seconds." Duncan's annoying voice and hands in the air threw me out of my haze. "Biggest burrito wins!"

He turned to me and Courtney with a smirk. "Think I'd make a good reality-show host?"

"Excuse me. We're strategizing. And I thought I made it clear I want nothing to do with you anymore, Duncan. Get away from me." She scooted closer to me on the bench we sat on making my heart flutter.

"Ooh!" He waved his hands at us making ghost imitation noises.

"If you'd strategize, maybe you could manage something more articulate." She rolled her eyes at him.

"Maybe you could blah, blah, blah—" He got cut off by the beeping of what I assumed was some sort of stopwatch or timer.

"Times up, co-competitors," Harold announced silencing the noise.
