"Sweetheart you need some rest". Dewayne walked inside of his daughter's room seeing her stand in the window cradling Jonah.
Not even bothering to acknowledge her father Liyah sniffed as she rocked a sleeping Jonah. Life was moving in slow motion, she felt numb, it had been a month since she's given birth and also a month since Jah had slipped into a coma.
The bullet had missed his heart by an inch, when Jah arrived to the hospital he coded, they had to resuscitate him three times before rushing him into emergency surgery. They successfully removed the bullet but now he's in a coma.
Liyah prayed every chance she got, she just needed him to come home. What hurt her the most was that she couldn't see him, she hadn't been to the hospital yet due to the baby.
She didn't want to leave her baby unattended nor did she want him in a hospital especially with him being freshly born.
Yes she could leave Jonah with father or Stacy but she was attached, she felt like he needed his mother's touch.
Jonah soft whimpers broke her out of her thoughts. He was now waking up from his short nap. Liyah stared down at him, tears welling up in her eyes. He looked just like Jah, from his thick hair that laid perfectly on his head to his natural mug and thick eyebrows. He truly was Jah's twin.
"Let me take over while you shower and put some food in your stomach, you got to be healthy and strong for not only Jonah but Jah as well." Dewayne walked over to his broken daughter resting his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm okay dad". She hoarsely spoke glancing up at him.
"You're far from okay and it's fine. I told you I'm here for you Liyah, I'll even watch him for a couple hours while you go visit Jah. I know you want to see him".
"I'm scared daddy". She admitted as tears slipped. She wasn't ready to see Jah in the condition he was in, she knew the sight would freak her out.
"I know but he needs you, he needs those prayers and words of encouragement". She knew her dad was right, she needed to see Jah as well as pray over him.
Maybe if she spoke life into him he would wake up.
"Okay". She mumbled carefully handing Jonah over to him after she kissed his chubby cheek.
"I'll be downstairs with him so you can have some privacy". Nodding she watched as she cradled Jonah while exiting the room.
Closing the door she made her way into her and Jah's bathroom. Stripping out of her pajamas she looked at herself in the mirror and cringed. She had deep dark circles around her eyes, her hair was practically matted.
Turning on the shower water she got inside letting the water run all over her.

Insecurely closing her cardigan Liyah made her way into Garden Grove Hospital. She hated hospitals with a passion, nothing ever came good from them but babies.
