It was a lazy day in Splatsville as the city rested on the day after the latest splatfest. The usually busy streets now crawled at a mere meandering pace with many at home recovering from the festivities. However bustling activity could still be seen deeper into the city where people were using the slow morning to go about their business without facing off against the normal crowds.

At the moment you found yourself parked outside one the local weapon shops waiting on one your friends and listening to the Anarchy Splatcast through your earbuds. Recently you'd answered a job advert for a weather girl position with the station responsible for the show, the results of which were scheduled to be released alongside the splatfest results. You knew it was probably meant to be a publicity stunt to drum up hype, but the wait had been killing you all weekend. Luckily the splatfest had helped keep your mind off it, but the party was over which left you anxiously waiting to hear if you'd made the cut.

A cold chill distracted you from the spaltcast, leaving you shivering and cursing yourself for having forgotten to do the laundry over the weekend. You'd intended to, but between the interview and throwing yourself into the splatfest it had completely slipped your mind until this morning when you'd had nothing left to where except an old outfit from several years ago that no longer fit properly, being far too tight and exposing a tad too much skin for your liking.

Honesty, if it wasn't for your roommates rather vocal encouragement you doubt you'd had the courage to go outside dressed like this. Absentmindedly, you tugged on the skirt to try and cover a bit more of your thighs.

When that failed you went back to nervously listening for the results for the next several minutes until a tap on your shoulder broke you from your thoughts. Turning you found your friend standing next to you, shopping bag in one hand and giving you a bemused look.

The orange tentacled girl shrugged and held up her bag.

Orange: Only for the past five minutes.

You blinked and then blushed in embarrassment. Smiling sheepishly, you awkwardly adjusted your tentacles while giving her an apologetic look.
