Ashlia walked into her school, Watermelon Sugar High (school). As she walked in, her friends, Ava and Lily, smiled and waved at her.
"Hey guys." she said, "Where's Catherine?"
Right as she said that, their other friend Catherine ran towards them. "HEY BESTIES-"
"Catherine why are you lateee," Ashlia said.
"I was on my way here, and guess what I saw? Aiden talking about prom!"
Ashlia gasped, and so did the others. "No. Way. You think he's gonna ask me to prom?"
"Well, you've had the biggest crush on him forever, but..." Lily trailed off.
"You're two years younger than him," Ava finished Lily's sentence. "Not sure if he likes younger girls. And you don't usually wear make-up, either, so it's hard for him to notice you."
"Yup, Ava's speaking facts," Catherine added, "But there's other boys too. And girls, you know, we don't judge."
Ashlia looked down at her feet in disappointment. "Maybe I should wear make-up then," she told her friends, trying to sound confident.
The girls stared at her, and then at each other, and then back to her.
"You shouldn't change how you look for someone else," Lily said, seemingly concerned about Ashlia's want to have to change herself for Aiden.
"Yeah, Lily's right. Don't change for others, change for yourself," Catherine added, "You should listen to Dhar Mann."
"Dhar Mann is so dumb," Ashlia responded, rolling her eyes, "Besides, I'll change because I want to. Definitely not just because of Aiden." Saying that, she started heading to the washroom. "I'll be back soon."

Her friends waited around for her, until she finally came back.
"Hey girl, where did y-" Ava stopped herself from talking more as she looked at Ashlia's face. Her face had an excessive amount of blush, and some lip gloss on her lips.
"So..." Ashlia waited for a response from her friends. "How does it look?"
"It looks...good," Catherine replied. Now it was Catherine's turn to be looked at strangely by Ava and Lily.
"Really? Thanks!" Ashlia smiled, completely unaware of the excessive amount of blush. She had looked in the mirror while putting on her make-up, but didn't realize that the amount of blush was too much. "I brought make-up to try on today, and I decided I should try it on right now-"
She was cut off by the bell. They all headed to class, Ashlia earning some strange looks. She didn't realize how bad she looked until her homeroom teacher asked if she wanted to go to the bathroom. She had to go to the bathroom anyway, so she went, where she saw Lily. Ashlia and Catherine's homerooms were different from Lily and Ava.
Lily seemed a bit surprised to see her. "Hey Ashlia...I wanted to tell you that...I think you put on too much blush."
Ashlia blinked. "Really? But Catherine said it looked good."
"Well, you are pretty-I mean! It looks pretty. It's just that...well, would you let me do your make-up?" Lily asked, half-expecting her to say no.
"Sure," Ashlia smiled at her, "Thanks for being honest."
Lily excitedly got make-up out of her pockets, which she always kept with her for some reason. She began gently putting on make-up on Ashlia's face, stroking her cheeks while moving her face from time to time, to apply the make on more better. Once she was finally done, she stepped back and took a good look.
"It looks great! Well, as great as I could've done in 5 minutes," Lily beamed, admiring the work she had done on Ashlia.
Ashlia took a look in the mirror, and gasped in awe. "Thanks so much Lily! You're the BEST!" she giggled, "We should head back to our classes."
Saying that, she walked off, leaving Lily alone in the bathroom.
The rest of the day went on, until most of the school started gathering around near the lockers. When the girls went to see what all the commotion was, they saw Aiden about to ask out someone for prom!
