All the lights are on, but there's an absence of light. Dark days, dark times. Bury myself in anything I can. Don't dare make plans. Being alone is better than false hope. Deep breaths. Learn to live in solitude, learn to be alone. Shadows eat at my brain, memories I can't erase. Write, read, watch TV, do anything. Do anything, but don't think. To think is to feel and feel makes it real. Blank mind, blank canvas, paint a portrait on my face. Face. Happy face. Smile. Don't forget to smile. Hide in the mask, too hard of a task. Don't try. Don't try, don't give up. No regret if you don't give up. Regret if you don't try. What do I do? When do I die? Stuck in my mind. Dead on the inside. Too hard to try. Lie. I must lie. Yes, I'm fine.
