Chapter {6}

After the little incident at the restaurant we decided to leave and go back to the hotel.

Once we got back we decided just to sit in silence on our phones.

Fun I know right?

I was sprawled over the bed upside down with my hair dangling on the floor.

"Uhhhh do you guys wanna do anything?" Nicole said grunting probably out of boredom.

"Ohhhh how about we go to that arcade down town?" Justin said jumping up and grabbing Nicole's arm.

Julia was in the hotel room when we came back. She "apologized" but we all know that she was faking it. Just so Colby won't be mad at her. PUH LEEZ girl get yourself together.

When we got to the arcade we paid for our coins to play the games and went our separate ways.

This time I went with Sam. Nicole went with Justin of course. And the Julia went with Colby.

First me and Sam went to the claw machine.

I put the coin in the slot and slowly moved the claw around.

"Here look in the side and see If I have the claw right over top of that stuffed duck." I said pointing to the duck I was aiming the claw free from the machine.

"Why can't you see?" He said half smiling and hitting my arm moving the claw and inch.

"Sam! Just do it. I heard the front of the glass is distorted so you lose the game and they get the money!"

"Really?" He asked curious cocking his head in a what I really have to say, cute way.

"Yes now do it." I said last looking away from him and back at the glass of he machine.

He stepped to the side and told me what to do and I got it!

"Yesssss!" I said grabbing the stuffed duck out of the dispenser thingy.

Sam just chuckled and walked over to some other thing.

The whole time we were at the arcade I felt Sam looking at the me.

It was kinda weird but I didn't think much of it. I mean he's like one of my best friends. Like a big brother I never knew or had.

But when I saw Colby guiding Julia's hand when she "struggled" to throw the little ball from the ski ball game, I felt something I never felt before.

But I didn't know what it was I felt. But I know one thing.

I was jealous.

But I wasn't gonna let her know it. I can't let her know she gets to me. I will not give her that satisfaction.

After the arcade we decided to go get some wings at the snack bar the arcade had.

We walked up to the counter and Nicole started to order.

"Can I get five baskets of chicken wings and- oh Kenzie what do you want?" Nicole said turning to me.

Oh crap. I need an excuse come on, come on think Kenzie.

"Oh I'm okay I'm not really all the hungry." I said lying putting on my best fake smile.

I hated lying to them. They were my bestfriends. Well except Julia. As you would know.

"Ok that'll be it!" Nicole said smiling at the cashier and handing him the money.

Phew that was close.

We went back to the hotel for what seems like the thousandth time today and sat on our phones again but this time was a bit different than the last time we did this.

"Hey Kenzie?" Sam asked sitting beside me on the bed where I was currently texting Colby even though he was right across the room form me.

"Uh sure." I said giggling at his sense of urgency he had in his voice.

Wait did I just giggle? I never giggle. Well ok this is new.

We walked out into the hall and Sam wiped his currently sweating hand on his skinny jeans and letting out a huff shaky breath.

Why was he so nervous? What's going on?

About five minutes later of Sam still looking like he was mentally preparing himself for something I decided to get whatever was bothering him out on the table because this was getting a hit irritating to watch.

"Sam?" I asked earning no response from him still.

"Saaam?" I said waving my hand in front of his crystal blue eyes.

Still no response.

Either he went into a coma with his eyes open standing up. Or he's really nervous.

I'm voting for the second one.

"Sam!" I eventually snapped at him stomping my foot in frustration.

I didn't mean for it to come out to cruel but I guess it worked because I got his attention.

His head shot up and he looked around the dark hallway a bit confused.

"What?" He asked still a bit confused.

"You brought me out here to ask me something then you got out here and stood here for five minutes staring into space not saying anything." I snapped at him a bit angry at the fact that he took give minutes out of my time to stare off into space and leave me hanging and confused.

And I HATE being confused.

"Oh sorry umm anyway you may be wondering why I brought you out here in this dark hotel hallway a 1 am in the morning." He said looking at his feet and then back up at me again.

Yea it was 1 am. #thuglyfe

.....kidding

I motioned my hand for him to continue this forever ending sentence he could they out.

The sentence that left me the midst confused I've probably ever been in my whole entire life.

And that's saying something. People have said some pretty confusing and misguiding things to me a lot I'm my short little 18 years of living on this earth.

Okay now I'm making my self sound like down kinda alien.

Ok I'm sorry I'm being weird now.

"Kenzie? Did you hear what I said?" Sam asked still looking at me.

Dang it did my mind go on a rainbow trip again? Thank you beau. You pick the worst times to have a brain fart.

"Oh god I'm sorry what did you wanna ask me?" I said genuinely sorry.

Here he is all nervous about asking me something and I'm trailing off in lala land. Stupid me.

"Well here goes nothing." He muttered letting out a huff of air.

"Well we've been friends for quite a while now as you know. And ever since we met I knew you would become an awesome friend to me. One that'd I'd never ever forget. But something's happened that makes me not want to be your friend anymore."

What? He doesn't wanna be my friend? Well then....

"What do you mean? You don't wanna be my friend?" I asked a bit hurt by his current actions.

He can't really want to stop being friends with me can he? And for what reason?

"No I don't wanna be your friend anymore. I was wondering instead of being my friend, Kenzie Jill Taylor will you be my girlfriend?"
