Chapter 7: Jungle PT: 2

3rd POV.....
Another long night had befallen Precinct 69 of the UDPD. Multiple reports had come in of a masked vigilante stalking the streets and exacting vengeance upon those who would harm the innocent. Not only that but they also had to deal with what happened to their so called "Apex Predators". Nearly several dozen MaxTac Officers had sustained multiple gun shot wounds or other injuries from this very same vigilante in their attempt to apprehend him.

Unfortunately for them they made the mistake of even trying to do so in the first place. Those who had awoken after the Asylum could only wonder if he was still around as their bodies gave off involuntary responses even thinking of the night before. Never once had these military trained professionals with the latest gear and the most experience in dealing with monsters like Cyberpsychos ever dealt with anything close to what had hit them last night.

But above everything else, they didn't want the lights to go out. Because when they did he was there, casting his shadow upon them. Threatening to drag them into the depths of despair and total darkness. Well, at least a few felt that way.

Damien POV.....
When I had woken up it was past 2:30 p.m. and yet I still felt like I was getting tackled through a wall or there ever taking and express elevator straight to hell. As I rolled over I saw Luna sitting there with a look of worry.
"I saw what happened on the News again. And MaxTac, really?"

I simply shrugged as I swung my legs out of bed.
"What can I say, the press love me."
I chuckled before popping everything that I could.

"I'm being dead ass right now Damien."
She said with her serious tone.
"You were reckless last night."

"The fuck supposed to do Luna, that piece of shit would have murdered everyone in that store if I hadn't stopped him."
I retorted before picking up my gear and putting it on my bed.

"Was stringing him up how you didn't even necessary?!"
She continued as I snapped my head around.

"It was absolutely necessary!! Because if not for people like that then Mom and Dad would still be alive! Ever since I found out what I can do and what I was capable of I've always felt like a freak!!"
I yelled out as I held my hands out to either side of me.
"I can't just put my head in the sand and stick out my ass anymore! For anyone who dares to threaten the lives of innocent people I am going to show that that will not be tolerated, that "I" will not tolerate it."

She sighed heavily as she crossed her arms.
"I'm not saying that I disagree with you because I also don't want to see anyone who doesn't deserve to suffer to go through what we have."
She then looked up at me with softened look in her eyes.
"But if you're going to continue trying to find who killed mom and dad along with doing what you're doing then you need to be smarter because I know you are."
Luna then walked over to me and gave me a bear sized hug.
"Ever since I found your stuff I've had nightmares that one day you won't come back."

I held her close as she nuzzled my neck.
"I made you a promise didn't I?"
I asked as she nodded.
"Then you know that with the way we were raised we were taught to always keep our promises."
We broke the hug so that I could pull her in for a passionate kiss.

But just then my ears perked up followed by a knock at the door.
"Who the hell?"
Luna muttered as the two of us went downstairs to see who was at the front door.

She and I had the same exact reaction as we spoke in unison.
"Uncle Terry?!!"

"Hey kids, how's it going huh haha?!!"
He laughed as we both tackled the guy with a long overdue family hug.

"What are you doing here?!"
Luna exclaimed.

"We hadn't seen you since the funeral and we thought that.."
Uncle T then held up his hand.
