[FACT - Along with alcohol, the Immortal body also rejects heavy amounts of caffeine, so things like coffee or soda have little effect beyond taste.]
Unfortunately, their attempted travel had been held up by one of them needing the restroom, which gave Luther some time to arrange his brown wig some more, making it more convincingly real in case other Immortals noticed him.
But as he finished, Luther noticed a staircase outside, it had led to another entrance upstairs, but there was a stone-brick mailbox next to it.
And when he saw a letter sticking out, curiosity got the best of him.
And boredom sank in seconds after, as the letter was addressed to Kar from an unknown person, basically just informing him that he would have more jobs when he got back, as apparently, the Ar¢hives had just begun several missions.
Luther didn't notice the familiar woman behind him, “Hey,” she spoke.
Luther didn't end up with her name, but she heard Brush say ‘Spark’ in reference to her so that was the name he would use.
Spark looked at the mail Luther held, “Heyy, don't open my mail, I might have a hot date y'all don't know about.” she joked, which caught a surprised laugh from Luther, despite the joke not even being funny (And me cringing while writing it.).
Luther focused again, surprised he got caught that off guard, could the woman in front of him truly be a reincarnated Beatrice Embers? She had to be, so either her former self got the extremely short end of the stick, or this woman was an incredible actor. Luther needed to find out which was the truth.
The woman realized that she hadn't gotten Luther's name, and the two introduced themselves. Her name was, in fact, Spark.
And with that out of the way, and the group together again, they began the walk.
~-~
It was among this walk that Luther-and-Co got an actual view of the town, not much had changed over the past century aesthetic wise, though Luther had seen something unfamiliar every once in a while.
The kingdom was active, especially considering that they were in the middle of winter. Granted, it was getting warmer, as it was soon to end.
Eventually, they reached a hanging sign which read ‘Coffee House’, and walked into the open double-door next to it. A warm room of light vanilla walls greeted them, walls that guaranteed comfort and safety from the cold.
A curly haired woman took them to their table, a seated area next to a window, which had been shut by unpainted dark wood shutters; they looked new, but not in a good way.
Luther picked the window seat on the left, which despite the shutters, was still polluted with some of the chilly air from outside.
As the group of five settled into their seats they were asked what they wanted to order, and besides Luther and Brush, everybody ordered coffee (Pitt had Luther order for him).
This wasn't something Luther expected, but looking around the table, and noticing the bags under most of the group's eyes, it wasn't surprising.
As the waiter went around the table, Luther attempted to observe the group. Though he was unsure what he was looking to find besides the familiarity of those he just met in this reincarnation. Familiarity which seemed to seep into everybody but Brush, even Pitt was starting to seem familiar for no particular reason.
Luther silently took a deep breath, brushing off the thoughts in his mind as the waiter asked for his order.
He asked for water, to which Brush followed suit. And as the waiter walked away, the group searched for conversation.
