Author's Note: Part 2 of my previous oneshot!

Zander hears a knock at the door, and is surprised to find Luke standing there, soaked through by the rain. "Can I come in?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper. Zander steps aside and holds the door open for him, letting him pass through. "Alex? Who's at the door?" Zander hears his mother's call from the other room. "It's just Luke! We'll be in my room, ok?" Without waiting for an answer, he takes the cold and shivering Luke by the hand and leads him up the stairs to his bedroom. He shuts the door behind them, but not before grabbing a towel from the bathroom and handing it to Luke to dry off. Luke takes it, muttering thanks softly under his breath as he sits on the bed.

"Ok, look," Zander kneels on the floor in front of Luke and takes his hands. "You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to, but are you ok? Did something happen?" Luke closes his eyes and begins to cry. When he speaks, his voice wavers. "It's just- my dad, he- we had a fight, and he got so mad, I just had to leave- I couldn't stay there any more..." He tries to slow his breathing, struggling to get the words out. Zander reaches up and pulls him into a hug, letting him cry. Luke pulls him in closer, resting his head on Zander's shoulder, slowing his breathing. When Luke has finally calmed a little, Zander moves away and wraps the towel back around Luke. "Stay right here. I'm just going to get something."

Zander runs down the stairs, practically tripping over himself as he rushes into the kitchen. He boils the kettle and makes Luke some tea, as well as some biscuits from the cupboard. If he had time, he would cook him something to warm him up, but he doesn't have the time right now. He makes his way back up the stairs, slowly this time so he doesn't spill the tea. He pushes the door open with his shoulder and finds Luke in the exact same position he left him in – curled up on the bed in the towel. "Hey, I made you some tea." He places it on the bedside table and sits next to Luke.

The two boys sit side by side until the taller one has finished his tea and biscuits. Luke seems a little bit less upset now, though he is still very quiet. I feel so bad for him. He doesn't deserve this, Zander thinks to himself. Finally, Luke speaks up. "Hey Zander, could I stay here tonight? I just don't want to go home yet."

"Of course Luke! But wont your mum be worried? And your dad too, even if he's mad?"

"I can text my mum and ask her if I can stay. I'm sure she'll understand. Besides, I'll apologise tomorrow."

"Ok, if you're sure." Zander wraps his arm around Luke, who slowly leans against him. Soon enough, Luke falls asleep, and Zander lays the still half-drenched boy down on his bed, covering him with a blanket. He kisses his cheek, careful not to wake him, and quietly sits in his beanbag with a book, letting Luke enjoy his well-deserved rest.

Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed this one! I know its tone is a bit more melancholy than the last one, but I quite enjoyed writing it. I think my next oneshot will be a double date between Lander and Drenriam (suggested by @LiamLovesTheDromies), so stay tuned for that :)
