"Aviana Seraphina! You're going to be late!" Mom called to me, and my eyes jolted awake as I scrambled out of bed, falling onto the floor with my blue comforter still tangled around my legs. My hair flashed scarlet from its naturally blonde color, a result of my ever-present temper.

Even when it was nothing but my own fault, I always managed to be controlled by my emotions.

"Aviana! Did you hear me?" she called again, impatient as ever, and I untangled my feet before jumping up and running over to my dresser, searching for something to wear.

"Yes, Mother! I'll be down in ten minutes!" I responded, grabbing a pair of skinny jeans, a pink sweatshirt, and a teal tank top prior to rushing into the bathroom. I showered quickly, washing my waist length hair and body in record time. I reached out of the shower seconds after shutting it off before grabbing my towel and wrapping it around my slim body.

Now, it's probably time for me to introduce myself instead of boring you with the details of the rest of my morning and the drive to the train station. My name is Aviana Seraphina DeRouge, and after going to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic for 5 years, I am transferring to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Mom and Dad both met at Hogwarts, and since our recent move from Spain, they decided to try and get the ahold of the headmaster of my new school, Albus Dumbledore, to see if I could attend there. As luck would have it, he had accepted me, addressing the fact that I would have a "special schedule", since I was about two years ahead of the people my age. Great.

When I arrived at the train station, I got out of our car and grabbed my trunk before sliding my backpack with my robes and such on my back. Of course, Mom and Dad were all kinds of upset, not wanting, but extremely excited, to see me 'finally leave for the best school in the world'. Their opinion was obviously biased, and Beauxbatons was a very fine school, so we shall see if I agreed with their assessment.

"Honey, you must send us a letter every week. We are so happy for you," Mom said, grabbing my head before she planted a kiss on my cheek. Her platinum blonde hair framed her thin face, which I had inherited, and helped show her half-Veela status.

"I will, Mom. Don't worry," I promised, not responding to her comment on being happy for me. She seemed plenty happy for me when she realized I would be going to school with other Veelas at Beauxbatons, and was almost always happy, so nothing was new.

"We best get a move on. Train leaves in ten minutes," Dad told me, grabbing ahold of my Mom's waist before motioning for me to begin moving into the station. I obliged, dragging my trunk behind me as we walked towards the trains.

"Now, when you get there, you'l-" Mom began, for the eighth time this week, and I cut her off. I knew exactly what she was going to say.

"I'll get sorted, where my house will be like my family. Then I'll get my schedule at breakfast the next day, and then I'll begin studying, as you guys want Outstanding on my reports," I completed, and she grinned broadly.

"We want your best, dear. But, since you were advanced back at Beauxbatons, and were still getting Outstandings, we know what you are capable of," she reminded, and I nodded. I glanced at my ticket, the numbers jumping out at me as I scanned the platform.

Of course, I was supposed to get on platform 9 and 3/4, but it wasn't there. Instead, I looked in between platforms 9 and 10 straight at the brick wall.

On one of their many stories, Mom and Dad had told me about the magical gate to get onto the train to Hogwarts. As a way of protecting the students from Muggles, the only way to get to the platform was through the brick wall.
