"Oh my goodness, y/n!" Deirdre laughs, hugging me tightly. "I missed you so much!"

Rubeus watched us with a confused expression on his face as we boarded the train and found seats.

"Why are you looking at us like that, Rubeus?" Deirdre asks after seeing his expression.

"Well, I just don't understand why you guys are so excited to see each other when you saw each other 2 days ago."

"Well, we're a-all best friends, R-Rubeus," Myrtle squeaks out. "And w-we love each o-other, so of course we're a-always excited to see e-each other."

"Aww, you love us?" I smile and hug her.

"O-Of course I do."

Rubeus nods. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense."

Suddenly, there's a loud knock at our door and I see a familiar figure behind the window. Deirdre gets up and opens the door, revealing Tom behind the door. Without saying a word, he just walked in and sat down right next to me.

"Um, hello, Tom," I say, looking at him confused.

"Hello." He cuts his greeting off short and just starts writing in a journal. When I lean over to see what he's writing, however, he slams the book shut and gives me a stern look. I back up, respecting his privacy. He clearly doesn't want me to see whatever he's writing.

After seeing that I'm no longer interested in what he's writing, he slowly reopens his notebook and continues. However, this time, he makes sure that the covers of his book are closed enough so that no one but him can see it.

Huh. Weird.

Me and my friends talk the whole way to Hogwarts and I expect it to annoy Tom, but it doesn't. He just sits there calmly, minding his own business and writing in his book. This is very odd for Tom, because usually, he'd be annoyed and would snap at us to shut up. I wonder what his problem is.

☆☆ Time - Skip ☆☆

After 7 hours of sitting on the train, talking, sleeping, and eating, we've finally arrived just so we can talk, sleep, and eat more, just in a different location and with more rules. Rules have always annoyed me.

We get off the train and make our way into the castle-like school without any incident. What is going on with Tom? Normally, I'd be ecstatic at the fact that Tom has calmed down and isn't disruptive or distracting, or any other "dis" words, but this is getting weird. His calm phases never last for more than 2 or 3 hours, after all, and it's been almost 8.

After we watch the first-years get assigned to their houses and we eat dinner, Dierdre and I go to our dorm that we've been assigned together again for the second year in a row. I'm hoping it wasn't just out of luck. But then again, nothing happens just out of luck here.

Another short chapter. I'm sorry guys, I'm trying to get better with updating like how I was last year. Please be patient with me. While you wait for updates on this book, however, me and my best friend are writing another book together on a different account. If you've seen the comment on my last update, you know about it, but if you don't, it's called Buckets of Blood by @ashandelizaity Thank you <3
