Bang. Bang. Bang.
Gunshots ricocheted inside her mind. Three gunshots. Three family members.
HYDRA murdered her Ma and Pa when they tried to protect her. Then they shot her brother. They did not hesitate to kill her family. So she would not hesitate to kill them.
Bang. Bang.
Andie tightened. She glanced out the bar-covered plexiglass window that took up two walls of her cell.
Outside she saw five figures tackling HYDRA security.
Who were they? Whose side were they on?
Andie began to shake, pushing herself against her paper-thin mattress that lay on the ground.
She could feel her numbed power pulsing beneath her skin, begging to be released.
Andie pulled at the collar around her neck. The collar that kept her confined to this prison. The collar never budged and her powers constantly stayed muffled.
Alarms started going off and Alexander Pierce, the man she had grown to despise burst into the expansive room her two windows looked off to. He barked orders at the men and women left standing as someone covered in a red and gold metal suit appeared in front of her windows. The man in the metal suit clicked a button of sorts and a red and gold mask popped off his face and slid back into the metal monstrosity.
"Hey kid," he said, observing her and the windows. The man began sawing a human-sized hole in the plexiglass.
"Can you hurry up Tony," someone in a metal suit similar to the man who appeared to be Tony barked. "We can't do this much longer.
Andie focused her attention on the band of fighters before her. A woman dressed in black with short sparkling silver hair battled two HYDRA security guards simultaneously. A man in a gray metal suit blasted men to the ground. A brown-haired male with an arrow holster slung over his backfired arrows repetitively at oncoming HYDRA officials.
Standing in front of Alexander Pierce was a pale-haired, steel-blue-eyed man. He held a red, white, and blue shield in one arm. He appeared to be reasoning with Pierce. Well, attempting to.
Tony's progress on the window was slow. Too slow. A man pointed a gun at Tony from behind and Andie let out a muffled warning.
Bang.
The man fired and the bullet bounced off Tony's suit. Tony smirked a little and then, with his other hand, punched the man in his strong face.
Bang.
Another gunshot went off, this time from the woman in black. Andie clutched her head as she watched blood gurgle out of the stunned HYDRA guards' bullet wound.
Andie's fingers wound themselves in her slightly tangled brown hair. Fear and power coursed through her veins.
She would not mourn for the people of HYDRA who lost their lives today. When she first killed somebody she cried for two days. HYDRA did not deserve her tears. They deserved to feel her power up close and personal.
The man in the metallic red metal suit burst through the glass ever so suddenly that Andie shot up.
"Okay, kid how are we going to get you out of this?" Tony asked slightly sarcastically.
Andie clutched the collar around her neck. "This. You have to break it." Andie's voice was hoarse from not using it.
Tony grabbed the collar not so gently and closed his fist until the collar snapped and slipped from her neck to the ground.
