The collar smashed into a million pieces as it fell from her neck.
Andie fell to her knees and the million fragments of what were once her slid back into place.
Power freely pumped through her veins, no longer combined.
Darkness rolled around her and hummed it's dark and murderous song. Wind sang freely and wildly, racing around her.
Andie got to her feet, eyes ablaze. She watched as every living person in that room stared at her with what looked a little like fear.
The remaining HYDRA guards attempted to run. Andie didn't let them. She wrapped her wind around them. She stole the air from their lungs. She stole the vitality from their pathetic little lives. Andie watched as each agent fell to the ground and a small, crooked smile emerged on her face.
Alexander Pierce was the last to fall to the ground, holding a gun in one hand. And in the other the device that could make her fall and fail.
"If I'm going out you are too," he gasped just before shooting her twice in the stomach. Twice, he pressed the button that shook her world, right as he and Andie fell to the ground.
Andie fell in and out of consciousness. Sometimes she could make sense of the world. Other times she wasn't able to
Muffled voices drew her out of her suffocating oblivion.
Two steel blue eyes stared at her from above. "Good morning," they said. "I'm Steve, Steve Rogers.
Andie attempted to sit up, noticing the IV on top of her right hand. Pain slithered down her sides at the movement. She winced.
Steve must have noticed her expression but stayed where he stood, a few feet away from her. He then said, "You were injured pretty badly."
He was scared to touch her.
"I think she can tell, Cap," someone stated behind Steve.
Andie adjusted herself so she could have a better view, ignoring the pain that tugged at the edges of her vision.
Andie took in Steve Rogers. She recognized him as the guy quarreling with Alexander Pierce. He was a figure in a gray T-shirt and black pants with a navy blue jacket resting on his broad shoulders.
Behind him, Tony stood next to a table cluttered with beakers and technology. He started slowly pacing around the room coming to a stop in front of a hovering orange projection of a technological orb.
"Jarvis," Tony said
"What can I help you with Sir?" A mechanical voice said.
"Can you give me a report of Miss Harris' injury?" Tony asked the AI.
"Of course Sir," the AI responded, pulling up at least four holographic screens of Andie's most recent medical history. "Miss Harris suffered from two bullets to the leftmost part of her stomach. She was then shocked with two thousand volts twice."
"Thank you, Jarvis," Tony said, pulling up her medical summary on one of the holographic projections. He read the file and then muttered, "Interesting."
Turning to Andie Tony then said, "So will you please explain to me how you, a nineteen-year-old girl, were able to get shocked with two thousand bolts twice and live to tell the tale?" Tony questioned.
"I–" she began.
"Don't do this shit right now, Tony," Rogers bit back, interrupting Andie.
Before Tony could say something, Andie clutched her head and let out a quiet scream.
Static raged in her ears, louder than ever. The static sea roared and bellowed unforgivingly. It consumed anything and everything. Her breathing became rushed, like the air was escaping her and she had to take as much as she could.
Two people dressed comfortably in black rushed into the room.
"What happened?" questioned the female.
"No clue," Tony gasped, his words ever so rushed.
A small ring of books and paper rose around her and burst into flame. Steve and Tony backed away, fear and unease clouding their eyes. The objects on fire began to turn to ash and gently fell back to the ground. A few of the hot ashes fell onto Andie then quickly disintegrated.
