Jess walked out of the McDonald's, empty stomach and all. She had planned to meet Emma there, but she couldn't go last minute because of a meeting she was asked to go to for her volleyball team.

Jess didn't mind though, because she didn't like eating McDonalds anyway, or just eating in general. She knew she needed eat good for hockey, but she hated it. The thought of eating stressed her out, but she didn't want it to affect her performance. There would be some couple of days it was bad, and she wouldn't eat much at all, but then she would feel like shit at practice. Which then resulted in her forcing herself to eat when she didn't want to. It was an unhealthy cycle that she seemed to never stop repeating.

She got in the car, turning on phoebe Bridgers. She would have left earlier, but Matt kept her there annoyingly. She was still confused why this guy seemed so interested in her, as no one had seemed to like her in a long time. She thought his brothers were cool though. The blondes (Nick) comment of how Matt was "a bad guy" threw her off though. She honestly couldn't figure out if he was serious or not.

Jess also wondered about how Matt actually asked her out. She was going to obviously say no, but they were interrupted at the right time. Her brother told her this guy was an asshole, and she could believe it. He always had a snarky comment, or a stupid smirk on his face.

She brushed off that weird encounter and started to drive to the rink. She didn't have practice or anything, but she felt like skating. She didn't plan on going there, so she didn't have her own skates, and had to rent some. She got in line behind a big group of boys, and she could tell they were hockey players. One of them turned around to her, as his friends were getting their skates. Once his eyes reached her face -which took really long because he started at her legs- he had a knowing grin on his face, which Jess tries to ignore until he started speaking.

"Your Logan's sister, right?" He asked all smiley.

"Yeah. You want a picture or something?" Jess rolled her eyes. The boy looked a little took back for a second, before returning to all smiles.

"I'm Troy. I play hockey for south, but between you and me" he leaned closer to jess, which made a confused look appear on her face "the whole rival thing is stupid" he finished his sentence, yet not standing back. When Jess didn't say anything, he spoke again "so you play hockey, huh?" He asked

"Yeah. What's it to you?" Jess asked a little bitter. She was becoming impatient, as she came here to be calm.

"I mean, a girl playing in an all boys league? Sounds tough. But I guess your really fucking good, right?" Troy says, and jess is confused at the weird structure of this sentence, almost like he doesn't believe in what he's saying.

"You could say that" jess shrugged, not knowing what exactly Troy was wanting from her. She also realized he must know Matt, if he's on their hockey team.

"Well, how good are you? Like you could beat me in a 1v1 good, because I doubt it" Troy egged her on, which Jess could easily see he was doing.

"I would but, no hockey sticks, so I guess I can't. Too bad" she answered sarcastically. She didn't believe this guy was asking to go 1 on 1 with her.

"My boys brought hockey sticks, right Brody?" Troy twisted his friend, Brody, around. Brody looked a little surprised to be turned around but saw Jess in front of him.

"Yeah of course. Yeah, you can have my stick if you want" he smiled disgustingly. Jess gave back a disgusted look. "Come on, it was funny" Brody offered a full teeth smile, which Jess's lips formed a straight line. Just as she was about to insult him, a third guy appears next to Brody. She frowned at the sight of Cole, and slightly panicked. He smiled wickedly, not expecting to see her.
