Snow Day - Joyce Byers

Currently, it was 8 days until Christmas Day. Hawkins is at its busiest at the holidays as people are coming over and visiting family and friends. Me and Joyce has already planned out everything we will be doing on Christmas and the following days leading up to it. We've also bought all the presents for Jonathan, Will and everyone else we know. However, i secretly bought Joyce a present without her knowing as she insisted i don't buy her a gift, i of course wouldn't listen to that.

I just finished off cleaning the kitchen counters when i heard a door open and then close. I knew it was going to be Joyce coming back home from work as it was around the time her shift ended. I put the dirty wipe in the bin and put the cleaning spray up back in the shelf where it was originally placed. While i was placing the cleaning spray on the shelf i felt a head on my shoulder and someone hugging me from behind. I smiled and Joyce said,"How's your day been, rose?" Rose has been my nickname since the first day i met Joyce.

"My day has been pretty okay but it's better now you're back, joyce," i laugh and she smiles and laughs too. She leans in to kiss me softly. I smile in the kiss and she does too. "Has anyone told you you're the best person ever?" Joyce says. I laughed.

A second later, the boys came in to tell us that it's snowing. I looked over at Joyce who was already looking at me with puppy eyes. I smiled and nodded. She understood what i meant and went into her room to change into her snow day outfit. I was already dressed appropriately but i had to get my earmuffs, gloves and scarf from the pegs on the next to the door. Once i placed my winter clothes gear on i went to look outside the window and i saw thick snow laying on the ground. Oh how beautiful it was. It looked like it came out of a christmas movie.

After Joyce was ready, me, Joyce, Will and Jonathan headed outside in the garden to go in the snow. Will and Jonathan were making snowmen while me and Joyce drank our hot chocolates we made. "This could be the best Christmas ever!" I say with a bright smile on my face. "I agree this is just amazing," as she takes another sip of her hot beverage. Joyce went into the kitchen to put her empty mug on the kitchen counter to clean later. While Joyce wasn't looking i quickly grabbed a large amount of snow and formed it into a massive snow ball. I hide around a nearby tree waiting for her to come back. "Y/N?" i heard her call from where we were previously sat. i heard her come closer to the tree, trying to find me. In a quick second i threw the snowball off her and she screamed slightly making Will and Jonathan look over at her, laughing. I burst out laughing when i saw her covered in snow. "You find this funny? Wait until you find out what you've got coming!" she shouted. She went gathering loads of snow and forming it into a larger snowball than i previously threw at her. "Woah! Joyce, you can't be serious. That's huge!" i shouted over to her. "It's pay back!" Before i knew it i was covered in cold white snow. I screamed when i felt it come onto my body. Joyce fell over into the snow because of how much she was laughing. I went over to her and said,"Look who's fell into the snow," i felt her take my hand and pull me onto the snow face first. Me and Joyce just stayed lying in the snow laughing at each other.

Later, me, Joyce, Will and Jonathan were sat on the couch listening to the Christmas radio station.
