Chapter 9

Late at night!

Murtasim fell asleep in the drawing room while working. Suddenly the sound of something falling woke him up. The lights were on in the drawing room. He was trying to understand where the sound came from. He stood up and suddenly the light went off. He realized something was happening.

Turning on the phone torch, he was going up the stairs and was walking very carefully. He noticed someone's shadow. The shadow moved from this side to another.

He asked loudly,
"Who's there? I'm telling you to come out."

Murtasim could no longer see the shadow. The whole house was in an uproar. He shouted and called all the guards and asked them to be alert. Turning on the main switch, he told everyone to scatter around.

He told them that the man could not escape. Unable to find the man upstairs with his revolver, he stopped just a few feet down the stairs. Then he went to Meerab's room. At the sound of the door opening, Meerab woke up a little and fell asleep again. Murtasim was calling her and saying,

"Meerab! Meerab, get up."

Meerab looked at him with sleepy eyes and asked,
"Is it morning?"

"No! A stranger has entered the house. He is being searched. Be careful. Keep the door locked from the inside."

She woke up instantly. Sitting in bed, she asked,
"Did that person come to kill? I'm scared."

"There is no reason to be afraid. You can rest assured. Keep the door closed. I am sending two guards to guard you."

Meerab grabbed Murtasim's hand and said,
"Hey no no! Don't leave me here alone. I'm so scared. You stay here."

"But it's important for me to go out. Try to understand."

"Then take me. I can't be alone. What if he finds me alone and comes to kill me?"

Unable to restrain her, Murtasim took her with him. He was walking with her holding her hand. He was looking around and Meerab was asking,

"What does that stranger look like?"

"Was wearing a hoodie."

"You would have shot that person when you saw that person."

"I didn't have a revolver in my hand. Besides, I didn't see the person clearly."

Meerab was with Murtasim and was looking around in fear.

The entire house was searched and no one was found. The man was very clever. Realizing the opportunity, the man escaped by evading the eyes of so many guard. Murtasim yelled at the guards for a while.

Although Murtasim was lying down, Meerab was sitting on the bed. Fear was evident in her eyes. Murtasim said in a threatening tone,

"Why are you still sitting? I said the stranger is gone."

"If he stays at home. Suppose he's hiding somewhere. After everyone falls asleep, he comes out and comes to our room, then?"

Murtasim looked at her face for a while and pulled her to his chest. Meerab fell on his chest and before she could understand anything, Murtasim changed their position and hovered on her and put his all weight on her. Meerab was shocked. Murtasim put his head on her chest and said,

"You are safe now. Before you get scratched, I will die. Now sleep soundly."

Meerab was shocked to hear him and Murtasim could clearly feel her heartbeat. Murtasim's hair was tingling on her cheek and she was really feeling safe. Unbeknownst to her, she was trying to put one of her hands on Murtasim's back but she removed it.
