"Can everyone hear me!" A familiar voice echoed through the entire island.
Jayeon's sleep was disturbed; she was awoken by the amplified voice that was produced by one of the many speakers that were scattered throughout the island.
She sat up, still slightly sleepy. A head lay on her legs. It was Jay, fast asleep. Jayeon brushed a strand of hair away from his face. She has to say, he looked peaceful when he was asleep. Angel like.
"Okay, I'll be telling you who died last night and the danger zone for this hour. Be thankful I didn't give a danger zone last night at twelve. Consider that my gift." Mr Choi announced, "Let's start with the danger zones."
Jayeon, ever so carefully, lifted Jay's head from her lap and moved it to rest on the beanbag. She took a pen from Jake's blazer, since she hadn't carried any, and his map from his back pocket. She spread the map open on the floor.
"The first danger zone from seven is C4, then from nine, the next danger zone will be D2, then lastly at eleven will be E2, so better get out of there while you still can. Those sections are off-limits for the rest of the game. Remember that."
After Mr Choi's announcement, Jayeon quickly used the pen and drew an 'X' over those three sections. Luckily for them, they weren't in any of those areas. But judging by the map, they were quite close. Being in the region of B7."
"Okay, now moving on to who has died in the last six hours. "Firstly, 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐢." He laughed.
'What a weirdo....' Jayeon couldn't help but think that. It was sickening how he couldn't care less, and even worse, he was laughing.
"How about I make this fun? Let's say who killed the person and how. 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐢 was killed by Kang Jihoon, who brutally stabbed her. 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐧 was killed by Park Jongseong, who shot him in the head. Karma at its finest. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐮𝐣𝐢𝐧, 𝐒𝐞𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐞𝐮𝐧, and 𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐉𝐢𝐚 were all killed by Lee Hayeon all three slit in the throat. We may have already found our winner. 𝐒𝐢𝐱 people have died so far, including Heejin. Anyways, be sure to keep your ears open for the next announcement and keep fighting!"
"Hayeon's taking this shit seriously," Jayeon whispered to herself as she neatly folded the may and placed it beside Jake.
She glanced between the two boys. Although she didn't want to, it was best she woke them up. Who knows if they were to be attacked at any given moment.
Just as she was about to wake the pair up, she heard the faint noise of rustling from the floor below them. Jayeon took her axe that was sitting alongside the other weapons, the gun, the potlid, and the knife on the desk.
They retrieved the knife from the kitchen for Jake last night. But it seemed Jayeon wanted it as she picked that up too and hid it away in her blazer.
Jayeon quietly made her way downstairs. The noise only got louder as she neared the kitchen. The rustling stopped.
"Who- who's there." A tiny voice, full of fear, called out. It belonged to Yang Sohee, the nicest girl in class.
"It's Jayeon. I won't hurt you, Sohee." Jayeon told the girl.
"O-okay." The girl said hesitantly. "But please come out, don't hide."
As Jayeon walked into her view, she placed the axe down on the floor. She walked into the kitchen with her arms raised in the air.
"Are you alone?" Sohee asked, and Jayeon nodded yes. This answer made Sohee shift to a much calmer state. "Could I hide here with you?"
"You can, I guess," Jayeon mumbled, folding her arms as she leaned against the dining table.
"T-thank you." Sohee's voice cracked, and tears began to pour like a waterfall down her face. She was trembling, clutching at her chest with her gaze lowered.
Jayeon walked up to the Sohee, wrapping her arms around her as she cried. "What's wrong," Jayeon asked in a gentle voice.
"Last night, I-I was chased by Hayeon and barely escaped. I heard that she killed three people last night. I could've been the fourth person she killed, I would've been dead right now." She cried.
Something washed over Jayeon. A thought. It was so easy for Jay to pull the trigger last night, it was so easy for him to kill someone. So why couldn't she?
Her arms tightened around Sohee's frame. "Did you really think that I would help you?" Jayeon whispered into her ear.
"What?" Sohee breathlessly whispered, her eyes widening as her head still lay on Jayeons shoulder.
Without giving Sohee enough time to process anything, Jayeon withdrew the knife from her blazer and plunged it into Sohee's abdomen.
Sohee's large glossy eyes stared straight into Jayeons cold, emotionless ones.
"You're too naive," Jayeon remarked, pushing the knife deeper into Sohee. She then hurriedly pulled the knife out and proceeded to stab her another three times.
Sohee's knees buckled beneath; she dropped to the floor, clutching her stomach, from which blood flowed uncontrollably.
"I'm sorry." Jayeon apologised, retrieving her axe. She stared at Sohee as she returned to the girl's weak body with the final weapon in hand.
Jayeon noticed how Sohee panicked. Who wouldn't, though? The girl on the floor breathed heavily, laying helping as she bled out.
"Fun fact," Jayeon started, her axe raised high in the air as she stood above the girl. "I'm Hayeon's sister. We have similar names, no?" And with that, she swung the axe down, decapitating Sohee.
Blood squirted up into the air endlessly, and Sohee's detached head rolled across the floor and hit Jayeon's trainers.
Jayeon frowned. "Poor girl, she really thought I would work with her." Jayeon sighed, looking down at the head below. "Rest well, I guess."
