He can convert his body into wood, literally getting hard like a tree log, and blend with the type of wood he is touching and even go as far as enter it and travel, but only on wood, anything else he can't enter, like dirt, and he can't alter his body, so he doesn't go inside completely if the piece of wood isn't big enough for his body, at least he isn't tall, but once inside wood he can propel himself as if he was swimming inside the material.
