matt has never considered himself to be a jealous person. while he is clearly a bit of an anxious overthinker, he's never really cared about who anyone talks to, what they post or wear or do.
but as he stares down at his instagram feed, he knows its bitterness that's settling on his chest, making a new home inside of his heart.
why should another guy get to bask in her sunshine? why should anyone else get to hear her laughter, witness her smile light up a room? especially some asshole that he doesn't even know.
it makes him even more frustrated that it's a really cute photo of ruby. that's supposed to be his job.
it's been some time since she fell asleep on him, and he misses her warmth right now more than ever. he had even drifted off himself, waking up thirty minutes later to ruby apologizing for invading his space and insisting that she needed to get home.
matt had let her go, but he wishes he would have pulled her back in to lay with him a little longer. it sucks, not being able to see her every day.
he needs to talk to her, needs to do something other than stare at her picture and wish that he had been there. so he exits the app and opens his messages.
