afternoon and night begin to blur together again. she doesn't care to know what day it is; it seems rather trivial when she barely rests anyways.
staying on an strict editing schedule is helping a bit. not with sleeping, but with keeping her mind busy. it's easier to cope with heartbreak when you're distracted, or at least that's what she convinces herself.
josephine had been staying at her place for the past week, ever since she got back from boston. just as a precautionary measure, to ensure that things didn't get too bad.
they'd been sleeping in the same bed too, and sometimes when ruby would wake up, she'd think it was matt laying in her arms. then she'd realize that it wasn't, and the pain flared right back up again.
she's just grateful that she didn't have to be entirely alone with herself in the beginning. sometimes it's nice to have someone tell you when to eat, when to shower, when to start caring about yourself.
this is actually the first day she's been on her own in a while. it had taken a lot of convincing to get josie to go back to her apartment; ruby had to express how guilty she felt about being taken care of and insist that she'd be fine nearly twenty times. thankfully, jo had finally obliged.
so now she's sits alone on her mattress, wallowing in her own thoughts.
the silence makes her skin crawl, and listening to music is somehow worse. every single song has some kind of memory of him tied to it.
she settles for nickelodeon reruns as her background noise of choice, tapping away tirelessly at her computer as the episodes drone on.
after a few hours spent working on the movie, ruby decides to change her pace. she still has to do some edits for youtube, including the triplet's most recent video, and she can't continue to neglect her real job if she wants to make enough money to survive.
it pains her to open the file that nick sent a few days ago, because even seeing matt's face through a screen is too much.
