the breeze rolls off of the ocean, cooling her warm skin. ruby's hair floats around her face as she stares out at the never ending horizon, snacking on some cheese and crackers.
they've been at the beach for well over two hours, and it's been calm. nobody is around; he wasn't lying when he said he knew a good place. they're huddled together on the towel that ruby brought, sipping on water and enjoying the food that cam had been nice enough to buy.
"what a gorgeous day." she says absentmindedly between bites, and he nods in agreement.
"thanks again for coming with me. you're not like the rest, ruby webber." cameron smiles.
it's hard to look at him when he compliments her like that, and she's not sure why. she buries her feet deeper into the sand.
"stop it, you're making me all nervous." ruby jokes, hitting him in the chest with the back of her hand.
