Lennon and I had actually talked a bit again after we said we didn't have to talk, but we were now getting Chris. Lennon had already warned me that Chris was gonna be in a real bad state of drunk, so I was prepared.

Lennon had thrown a jumper on right after the gig when we were still inside the Velvet Underground, it was plain grey and actually fit very well with his black jeans. It made his tall frame a little bit bulkier or at least broader though which actually kind of looked good on him, I thought. His body frame had never looked so inviting to me to just sneak my arms around him and get lost in his embrace. It was all I wanted to do for a second, but then I felt his hand around mine again, just a little pull and I felt okay again.

He walked me through the crowd back inside the venue were we had to look for Chris. This guy had actually never let go of my hand even once since he'd taken it on the walk fifteen minutes ago. Lennon's rings made funny sounds against my rings but he didn't mind, neither did I. We didn't mind. It sounded so different to say we, instead of he and I.

Before we reached Chris who was sitting completely drunk on the edge of the stage, threatening to fall off, Lennon stopped in his tracks and turned around to me.

"Thank you," was all he said and I was left confused.

"For what?"

"For spending time with me."

Thank you for spending time with me.

Why would he need to say thank you for this? It made me feel happy that he was glad that I was spending time with him, but it also made me feel extremely sad. Spending time with him was all I ever wanted to do and it hurt me to see that he seemed to believe that people usually weren't like this.

His smile was so genuine and truly happy it brought tears to my eyes.

"No thank you for spending time with me," I said back, also smiling now, ignoring the wetness in my eyes. We were both now smiling at each other like two crazy people.

"This is getting so cheesy, ye know..." Lennon laughed scratched his neck with the hand that wasn't holding mine.

"yeahh..?" I wasn't quite sure what to say in that moment because I really didn't want to say anything wrong. I knew it was okay for me to talk off my mind around him but it still scared me.

Then Chris suddenly jumped at Lennon from behind us and engulfed him in a sweaty hug, his grin as big as no grin I've ever seen before. He glanced at our hands quickly but didn't lose a single word about it.

"Oiii mates, that beer really isn't it ye know, I've had cigarette water that was tastier than that shite," Chris said and leaned against Lennon, with one arm around his shoulders. He really needed the support, as he was nearly falling all of the time. Lennon was barely able to hold him steady, so he let go of my hand to steady him, which was now feeling cold, missing his'.

"Ye know that they have actual beer here, right," Lennon asked amused and shook his head.

We were now in Lennon's car and on our way to Chris's home to drop him off. He was spread out over the backseats, while Lennon and I were sitting up front. Chris was actually living in my village so Lennon offered to drive me home too.

"Do you wanna put on some music?" Lennon asked, his voice cut the silence and it sounded raspy now, worn off by the singing tonight.

"Yeah," I agreed, "should I put on some Mother Love Bone?"

"Hell Yeah," Chris shouted from the back to which Lennon and I both jumped because we both had thought that Chris was safe and sound asleep.

"Chris ye fecking twat, I thought you was sleeping!" Lennon raged to which Chris just replied with sticking his middle finger to the front row.
