Melting Snow // Coriolanus Snow

eight: Dawn

Its been two days.

Two days since the wretched interaction Alara had with Coriolanus Snow. And since than the she hasn't seen the boy. Not that it affected her at all, but every time the door bell rang, or Sejanus knocked at their house; Alara couldn't help herself or the way her eyes drift towards the door.

For two days, they all had been stuck inside the house, and not even venture out once. It was as if Sejanus was hiding them away from the whole Capitol. She had been sitting on the couch eating noodles out of some card box take out.

The day Snow deliver the three vegetable; that same night Sejanus came to visit them again. But this time he came with blankets, an electrician and some really good food. So now Alara had all the comfort she needed.

The heater was working and keep the house warm like a oven, and wrapped in thick blankets, Alara felt like a banana bread, toasty and warm. It was almost 1PM, and everyone was getting ready to head out as Sejanus promised them, and were waiting for him.

Alara head whipped up when there was a knock on the door, "Alara, get the door love!" She heard Inna yelled from inside their shared bedroom, and rolling her eyes, she groaned while getting out of her bed and padded to the main door with her noodles still clucked in her hand.

Passing by her room, she caught a vision of Inna bend over and applying painting Victor eyeline deep black with paint. She made a memo to ask her to do same for her eyes too. Focusing back on the door, Alara opened the door and saw Sejanus standing in front of her.

"Hey Alara" He said to her and she turn sideways, allowing him to wake inside and only nod at him when he greeted her. Closing the door behind her, they both walked to the sofa Alara was earlier sitting on and he clasped his hands behind his back.

"Where is everyone?" He asked and before she can answer back, Egan entered and upon seeing Sejanus standing in there he turned around and yelled loud enough for everyone to hear him, his words being "GUYS SEJANUS' HERE"

Doing that, her turn back and face the young boy. "So we finally get to step out today?" Egan asked and Sejanus scratched the back of his head. "Yes certainly. I am going to wait until everyone is here and then i can explain what we are doing today"

Egan shook his head respectively, while Alara only took a bite out of her noodles. Sejanus turned his head to look at her and smiled, he truly smiled at her. A smile with no envy, no malicious thought, no evil. Just a pure full hearted smile. And said to her "The way you are devouring them, I would say that you like them"

Alara was generally a closed off person, she don't make friends easily, she don't talk, she don't act without taking a thousand precaution. That's a life that comes when you grow up moving around districts.

But the way Sejanus was nothing but kind to her since the moment he saw her, the way he always smile at her, always try to hold conversation, always tried to make her feel comfortable and not as if she was a doe in lion's den.

She couldn't help but smile back at him. It was not a calculated smile, but a true friendly smile, a smile Egan barely saw her giving to strangers. With a smile she shrugged "Like is a weak word. I love these!"

She didn't knew what she expected, but the way Sejanus threw his head back and laughed out loud, with a hand on his chest to calm down his booming laugh that attracted the other members to finally join them in the small living room.

She was confused, so she kept her eyes on him. While Sejanus took a huge gulp of air and shook his head, looking at Alara he shook his head at her "Oh you two are too much alike?". At his words Alara turned her head to look at her sitting brother and then back at Sejanus. "Who two are alike?" Asked Egan, and Sejanus point at Alara with her finger "Her and Coriolanus."
