Sorry I forgot to update it's just been really busy this week.
“He’s wrong,” Ryu said, shoving the metal sheet away. “You’re not a ‘hopeless excuse for a fire dragon.’”
Nigel shrugged. “I’ve heard worse from my father.”
“I don’t care. They’re both wrong. You’re a wonderful example of a fire dragon, you just need a little work on controlling your fire.”
“If by a little you mean my younger siblings are better at it than I am, than you are correct.”
Ryu looked offended.
“I’m sorry, Ryu. I know you’re just trying to be helpful. But it is a little disappointing.”
Ryu snorted. “Doesn’t change the fact that the teacher is terrible.”
“Ryu…”
“You don’t need to Ryu me, Oceania. The teacher is terrible, and completely terrified of getting set on fire, which is an even worse quality for a dragon. I was there.”
Nigel winced at the memory. Yes, Ryu had been there all right.
Of all of his finals, Nigel, understandable, had been the most concerned about his Incineration final. Despite the help from Ryu and Oceania, he knew that he wasn’t in control of his fire enough to pass the test. What he was concerned about was whether or not he would be in enough control to not burn down the entire field. By now, he was more than use to the teacher and students ducking for cover the moment his turn to aim at the target came.
The only student who wasn’t instantly terrified every time he had to take a shot, was Ryu. Unsurprisingly, since he was used to being around Nigel’s unpredictable fire. By now, standing next to Nigel when his fire decided it was either going to slowly dribble out of his mouth or explode violently from his nostrils when he sneezed was completely natural.
Standing in line waiting for his turn to come, Nigel couldn’t help but frantically run any and all math equations that he could think of into in order to keep his mind occupied. Unfortunately, most of them revolved around approximately how much fire he would have to breath out in order to consume either the entire field, or the entire school.
