Sorry for not updating😅, but the author and I are busy with midterms.

Nigel found the second semester of school much easier than the first, although part of that had to do with the lack of Incineration class on his schedule. With the lack of that class, he found his class schedule much more appealing. Also, he no longer had to take Drama class, and he wasn’t sad to not have to drag himself to that class anymore. His younger sisters might find that class fascinating, but he found it a torture only beaten by Incineration class.

Of course, his math classes were always his favorite, even if he found the course material a little too easy. But it just meant he had more time to work on the math questions which he found interesting and more challenging, even if Turtle once picked up one of his math problems and had to ask for a translation just to understand what it was asking.

The rest of his friends were all doing well in their classes. So far Turtle had managed to avoid seriously injuring himself or anyone else in his rock carving class. A miracle, as far as Oceania was concerned, although more likely caused by his stress over his future siblings. Much to his despair, his mother had absolutely loved the name Sarcastic Fringehead, and the latest updates indicated that no one had managed to talk her out of it yet. So much for Kelp’s theory. The one benefit was that he was officially banned from suggesting any names from this point on. He agreed.

Ryu and Oceania were thoroughly enjoying their Overlord classes, although Oceania was more than slightly disapproving of some of the tactics Ryu was learning. The debates between them on the best way to establish a reputation among humans were interesting. The only class experience slightly more interesting to listen to was Turtle, and that was only because of well…Turtle.

The only thing that wasn’t going so well in school was Nigel’s practice for incineration class. Despite constant practice with Ryu and going over various theories with Oceania, he still wasn’t any closer to hitting the target consistently or controlling his fire. The only thing that had improved was Ryu’s ability to dodge random spurts of fire. But credit to his friends, they still kept trying. And trying.

But, enough of incineration class. Nigel didn’t have to worry about retaking that class until he was ready for it. And as much as he disliked the idea of being the only senior in a group of freshdragons, he did admit that it was much better than disgracing himself every single semester.

There were only a few things different in the spring semester versus the fall semester. Most of those changes were minor, a few different events which only took place during the spring as well as a short spring break occurring about one month in.

The main difference between the semesters, event wise, was a royal visit from the two Dragon Queens.

When Nigel had first heard of the event, he had almost panicked wondering what in the world he was doing in such a college, before remembering that his mother had told him that Stormcrest Academy was one of the few colleges annually visited by the two queens. He also remembered that that was the reason why he had a box full of his good jewelry buried underneath all the math books in his room. Now he was thankful that his mother had forced him to bring it. Showing up to such an event in anything less than his best jewelry would have been a humiliation not even Nigel wanted to go through. He might be use to being in embarrassing situations, but embarrassing himself in front of the Dragon Queens was something he never wanted to do.

Thankfully, he still had a little while before the two Queens would arrive, so that meant he had ample time to calculate his new series of math problems, all given to him by his younger siblings who had gotten into a debate over whether or not it would be possible to fly to a star. Once he had clarified the question as to whether or not they would be able to breathe during the flight, as even Turtle to calculate the length of time such a trip would take if one were unable to breath, he had set to work right away. It proved to be quite an interesting question, even if it did require him to take a trip to the Astronomy classrooms to enquire about the relative distance between their planet and the nearest star, which had resulted in an interesting conversation concerning distance and speed from which he had garnered even more factors and variables to add to his equation.
