"The three girls had established a mutual agreement..."

"Let's get down to business now" Jomilee starts as Daniel leans back in the sofa.
"You two have your first day of training tomorrow" he says, tone changing to a more serious one.

"So i'll show them my skills, get 'em to fear me" Allio comments, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees.

"Well.. no" Jomilee says dryly
"Sure, show them skills." The man says as he continues
"But avoid using your sickle Allio. You want to use it for your personal assessment later. You don't need the careers and everyone knowing your best skills" he says calmly.
"That would be the same for you Ali" Jomilee says turning to the girl who nods in response.

"It's not just the other tributes you have to fear but also the games itself , the arena could be anything" Daniel continues "despite having poisonous snakes and wildlife in 9, the game makers are able to do anything in the arena, mutations of animals, so you need to prepare for that"
"And it's the best time to make Allies, the Carrers always group together so they're unlikely to team with any outlying district."

Daniel walks with me out of the room, Allio and Jomille having left a few minutes ago as we walk headed towards an elevator.

"How are you feeling Darling?" the man asks the girl beside him "As good as i can be i suppose" she returns simply in her training uniform.

"You're doing better than most kids when they get here" the man tells the girl to which the girl smiles slightly the elevator door opening as the pair step into it.
"I suppose it hasn't really set in yet" the girl responds truthfully.

"Do you think i have a chance at winning?" the girl asks unsurely after to her Mentor, like she needs reassurance that she won't die, despite the fact that 23 kids will.

Silence follows the question before Daniel responds carefully "No one ever wins the games" The man tells the girl sincerely.
"And based off strength and intellect alone, you have no chance in the world." Daniel says honestly
"However, I think will the right strategy anyone can survive in the games"

"Just work on finding an ally or two, Allio can't be trusted" the man tells the girl before the lift stops, and door opens carefully.

"Thank you" she says simply, "i'll see you later" the girl adds before leaving the area and heading towards the rest of the way to the Training room.

There's not too many tributes in the room yet, the careers all huddled together in one side of the room alongside the pair from 7 and 10 alongside Allio and the girl from 8.

Glancing around the room there is lots of weapons and targets, machinery with projected images across them and games to test one's intelligence.

I make my way to an empty seat away from everyone, and sit down beginning to read over information on the tablet.
There's not much wildlife spanning across 9, the district is filled with grains like wheat and corn and barley and oats.

I read about edible flowers and poisonous fruits and tree bark before the seat beside me becomes occupied by a girl my age who i know being from District 8, Textiles.

The careers seem to avoid the survival skills, watching from afar with smug expression from the pair from 2, the only one of the group with a blank, non mocking expression as we match the berries being the boy from 1.
