"She thought that was the rule; that once you win the games you'd have riches, a life of luxury.
A life of peace.
Freedom."

Going through the districts were very similar, a never ending cycle which ended in either silence when it came making her speech, or looks of hatred for the underdog victor.

It's a normal thing that occurs when an outlying district wins.
Especially one that plays part in the death of Career tributes, which Daniel had explained to the girl, Jomilee agreeing mentioning that they still don't like him much when he's within the Capitol.

Jomilee, barely able to even be in a room with the Victors from 1 and 2 without comments being thrown back and forth and arguments breaking out.

Yet Alice struggles to understand why everyone can't just get along, and why the games even exist other than to prove Capitol control and dominance over the Districts.

They'd all been through the same traumas within the arena, yet even out of the games and after all those fallen, the District's Victors still can't get along.

Eventually after long repetitive days, the girl reaches the District of fishing, 4,  as the train slows, eventually coming to a complete stop outside the large gates to the District.

Golden sand littering the ground and the waves of the blue ocean lapping onto the golden sand.

Children are walking around collecting seashells and splashing around in the waves, without a care in the world, smiles on their beaming faces and tan, sun kissed skin a normality of the district.

How she wishes she could have grown up like that.

Careless and Free.

With not a worry about where her next meal would come from or how many times her name would be in the reaping, or how they could pay the bills.

She stays like that for a while, just glancing out into the ocean, sandy shores which she couldn't even fathom to be real, much less reality for those lucky in district 4.

She thought that was the rule; that once you win the games you'd have riches, a life of luxury.
A life of peace.
Freedom.

But she remains controlled by the president and having to go visit every district where she would much rather return to her home and not be seen again, hidden away in the Victor village with her mother in 9.

Again, on time the girl is escorted by Marble and a few peacekeepers weaving throughout the halls.

Though this time Alice is filled with sadness, heartache as the large doors open and the thousands are stood before her as she's walked to her stand.

The district victors are towards the back of the crowd alongside the families of the fallen.

Glancing out she sees a couple, a man and a woman, barely keeping it together as tears run down their faces, projected onto the large viewing screens for Panem.
And the girls heart clenches, aching, she feels miserable at the sight of the now deceased tributes on the wall.

Stood in front of the whole of the district she goes to begin her speech her rehearsed phrases.

Opening her mouth she lets out a breath, as her memorised words leave her brain.
Blank.
