The next day
Jungkooks POV
I woke up next to Namjoon and Jin in the large double bed. I still find it difficult to sleep next to the older boys, who are almost strangers.
My training phase with the company started about a month ago after I decided for this one. After taking part in the casting, I received offers from five different companies. I chose BH because that's where I met Namjoon. He was simply one of the coolest kids I've ever met. I was immediately impressed by his demeanor as he radiated both confidence and approachability. And his rapping talent was more than impressive. If someone like him chooses this company, there must be a good reason.
He's a few years older than me, just like Jin. I was already told that I would be the youngest member of the future band, but I was still allowed to start my training two weeks earlier than Yoongi, Hoseok and Jimin. As far as I'm informed, a seventh member will join anytime soon. Namjoon and Jin started some time before me. How long exactly is not yet known. All I know is that both of them took part in the training a little later because they had completed school.
Although Jin is the oldest of the band, Namjoon will be our leader. I'm not surprised by this fact because Jin is very childish despite his age and I'm still unsure how seriously he's taking this. This worries me a bit because I'm more than sure about myself and this band is the only chance to fulfill my dream.
I am more than grateful to my parents for allowing me to take advantage of this opportunity. On the other hand, they have hardly denied me anything so far. From singing lessons to martial arts, I have been able to pursue all of my passions without restriction and my parents give me their fullest support. Fortunately, I never had any problems maintaining my good grades at school, otherwise I would probably have had to study more in my free time.
My mother is currently more worried about how I will cope in my new social environment.
Unfortunately, I'm very shy, to put it positively. I don't get along very well with other people, especially if I don't know them. Whatever the reason, I can't open my mouth and just want to get out of the current situation. That's also the reason why my circle of friends at school is, or rather was, very small. Not only did I have to move, I also had to change schools, which is why my current friendships are limited to two people. And to talk about friendships here would be a huge exaggeration, since I basically know nothing about them and they don't know anything about me either. We sit together in class and talk during breaks, that's it. But since I didn't come to Seoul to find friends but to make my dream come true, this is absolutely fine by me.I stretch and crawl out of bed. After a long yawn, I wake up Jin and Namjoon. Our bus back home leaves in an hour, where the rest of our usual program awaits us. Yesterday we were invited by the president of BH to an extensive studio tour, followed by a barbecue at his home. Namjoon and Jin didn't seem surprised by the invitation, but why I was taken was a bit of a mystery to me. I had a suspicion and it was confirmed when the President took me aside and talked me into my conscience that the whole thing was an opportunity that I shouldn't waste. It was clear that they were taking a risk by signing me at 15 years old. My voice was not yet fully developed and my physique and character are still changing. Many young people change their minds and dreams, but I am sure of myself. I also emphasized this to him. He seemed somewhat calmed as he turned back to the others. Before that, however, he emphasized that I was still expected to complete school and not to risk the company's reputation in any way. In other words, I was told not to try dating or any of the other things that teenagers usually do.
Since I have no interest in this regard, his concern is unfounded. My goal is to become an idol and I will achieve that goal.
Since today is Friday and the weekend is near, I at least don't have to worry about missing anything important from school. My two 'friends' at school will send the missed stuff per Mail, as soon as I ask them to do so.A short time later, the three of us packed our things and, after a small breakfast and saying goodbye to the President, headed back to Seoul.
The ride is pretty quiet. Namjoon reads, as he almost always does. Jin looks out the window and tries to make small talk with me. Since we spent the whole day together yesterday, we have little to say to each other. I listen to music and get lost in my thoughts.Back in our building, I still have time for a quick lunch and to take care of my household chores before rushing off to singing class in the afternoon. Jimin is still in school when I leave our room for practice. I notice a new bag on the bunk bed beneath my own and it seems, someone has slept in it. Maybe Yoongi and Hoseok slept at our room to keep Jimin company. He is pretty social and I wouldn't be surprised if he could persuade the others to spend time with him.
I know he should be home soon, since he has a group-session with Ha-yoon right before I have my single session with her.Today I only have a short session with Jin as we are both being trained on the high notes and then I have individual lessons. As I mentioned before, my voice is not yet fully developed due to my age. I therefore have to practice more than the other members in order to gain security and stability and to be able to shape my scrimmage in a certain direction.
The session with Jin goes by in a flash, as he can make even our singing teacher smile with his jokes and his lightness.
Then I change rooms to my private lesson with Ha-yoon. She is very strict but fair. With her I always have the feeling that I am learning more and more. 'Is it ok if we leave the windows and doors open today?' she greets me. 'The group of 16-18 year olds were here just now and a group of pubescent boys have their very own smell. Apart from that, it is still far too warm for October and fresh air doesn't hurt anyone.'
Like I said, she's very direct. We're about halfway through our session and I'm trying to follow a ballad to Ha-yoon's instructions when there's a tentative knock on the door and a head appears inside. The head, which carries a big bright smile, is followed by a body and a surprisingly deep voice apologizes 'Sooorryyyy, I left my bag earlier'... The boy scurries to a corner of the room and grabs the small bag lying on the floor while Ha-yoon gives him a disapproving look.
I look at him in amazement and the first thought that comes to mind is just
-'Wow!'-
