Charlie:
Last night, when I went upstairs, I sat in bed thinking about what just happened.
Nick came home drunk when we haven't been on the best terms for two days now. Initially, I was just annoyed because here he was again breaking another promise. He told me he wouldn't drink while I was pregnant so, not only did he drink, but he got pissed drunk.
At first, I was gonna leave him out there and be petty I guess, but even drunk, all he could do was apologize desperately.
I was annoyed and disappointed, but Nick is the love of my life, I think it's near impossible for me to survive without him for too long, I needed him. That's when I went back downstairs and told Nick that I loved him before falling asleep on his chest. It felt great even though I could tell that he was being a little cautious, I appreciated it though, showed me even more that he cared. The next morning, today, I woke up on the couch, the same place I was last night, just without Nick. I suspected it. I wasn't mad, I was actually in a much better mood. It was the best I had slept in two days. And, when I actually started to get up and check my phone, I had a text from Nick.
Nickyyy😘❤️:
(7:30am) - good morning char!! I've missed sleeping with you so much. Im so sorry about how I came home last night but I am definitely paying for it with this hangover. I wish I could've stayed cuddled up with you but hopefully we can tonight. I love you a lot!
I smiled big at the text before replying
(9:05am)- good morning baby. I missed cuddling with you too. We'll talk when you get home dw...I love you lots
I spent the rest of the morning scrolling on social media, online shopping, and sending texts back and forth to Elle who is mad at me for not coming to work.
I ate breakfast and lunch at home before I decided to take a trip to the shops. I wanted to make steak and potatoes for dinner, Nick's favorite. To be fair, I'm craving it too.
Once I made it to the shops, I grabbed a buggy and went down all of the aisles that I needed. I proudly made it to checkout without stopping by the baby clothes this time. It may or may not help that a room in our house is filled to the brim with onesies.I was loading my groceries into my car when I realized that there was an ikea not too far from here. We have plenty of clothes, toys, security, and nursing items already, we're just waiting for the crib that Nick and I picked out, storage things, and a chair. Well maybe a chair, I haven't quite been able to convince Nick on that yet but it would be so nice reading books to the little one, nursing them, etc.
When I finished loading the groceries, I drove my way over to the IKEA parking lot before heading in. I grabbed a buggy and headed directly over to the nursery section. I was looking around at the dressers/ changing tables and none of them really stood out to me until I saw an exact replica of the one Nick and I saw online. The only thing different with this one was the brand and the fact that it wasn't sold out. I examined it a little longer, debating if I should get it or not, but when I saw it was on sale, I was ok with risking Nick being mad at me for getting it without him. I picked up the box which was heavier than expected, but I'm too anxious to ask strangers for help.
I looked around a little more, stopping by the rocking chairs and ottomans, but all I could find was a blanket that would go perfectly with the decor we have so far.Eventually, I checked out, loaded my car up, and headed home.
Once I was parked in the driveway, I got my groceries and the blanket, loading it all in the kitchen. I left the dresser for Nick when I eventually tell him about it. I put all of the groceries away except for the steak as I had to let it marinate.
When I was done prepping dinner, it was a little after four, so I had plenty of time to lounge around or do whatever.
I had decided that I'd take Nellie for a walk but, while I was getting ready, the doorbell rung. I got a little nervous because I wasn't expecting anyone. I went downstairs with Nellie in front of me before I looked at the camera that's linked to the doorbell. I let out a laugh before I ran to open the door "Charlie Nelson" Elle let's out. She looks furious but it's hard to take her seriously when she's holding a box of donuts that she knows I wanted. " Hello Elle, soon to be Xu" "ugh don't remind me" she says groaning as she walks in "umm, second thoughts" I ask confused. "About Tao, no. The wedding, yes" she says as she finds a seat at the island. "I'm confused" "I'm obviously in love with Tao, and I'd love to marry him, but planning the wedding and all of the expenses are just ughhh" I laugh at her groan at the end while I fetch us drinks. I sit across from Elle so we're face to face "what's in the way" "everything. And you know how we're still renting that house?" She waits for my nod "Tao wants to start looking for houses to buy" " I mean I'm cool with it as long as it's closer to me" I say smiling, making us both laugh " I don't wanna move right now though, especially if we're gonna have this wedding. I think we should just elope at this point" "um absolutely not, your dream is to have a garden wedding" I say taking a bite of one of the donuts "oh yea, the venue is 5,560$" she says and my jaw drops "the hell, it's a beautiful venue but damn" "right". "Is that the only problem" "I mean yeah with the wedding, because we won't have too many people, but I do wanna invite my family in Egypt so that'll cost. So that on top of a new house and honeymoon." She sighs "I'm so glad I'm done with that to be honest" "yeah but you've got an actual human on the way" she says smirking "ughh don't remind me" it was Elle's turn to laugh and ask questions. "How's the nursery coming along" "c'mon" I say brushing my hands and walking towards the stairs. We walk up and down the hall before I open the door "tadaaa" "oh-" she says. It was just a mountain of everything from the baby shower. "I mean, you have 6 months" "No it'll be done before Paris, I actually got a dresser today though" I say proud of myself "when will you start?? I wanna help" "i don't know yet. We've gotta decide if we want to paint or not." "Do you want to" "mmm no, I think the boho theme and pictures is enough. Plus what if they wanna change it when they're older"
