Two years later
"Lisa, come on. We'll going to be late at the ceremony"
"Coming. I'll just get my ID"
"Hurry up"
"We still have an hour before the ceremony starts, Mom. We won't be late" Lisa said while running down the stairs
"Even so, better than early than late"
"Let's go"
The drive took thirty minutes due to a little traffic since today is the Graduation day. When they arrived at the convention center, they quickly got inside and sit on the reserved seats.
"I thought we are late, oh goodness"
"Relax, mother. There's still time left"
After a couple of minutes the Graduation ceremony finally started.
"Lisa Manoban, 6th grade with the Highest honour, Best in Mathematics, Best in Science, Best in Computer Technology and Most Capable Student of The Year" the speaker announced as she and her mother walked on the stage to receive the certificates and medals.
By the end of the ceremony, the place is crowded so they stayed on their seats until the people lessen. When they stood up and walked towards the exit, a woman with a female student on her side came to greet them
"Hello Mrs. Manoban and Lisa, congratulations!"
"Hello, Mrs?" Mrs. Manoban greets her back but she doesn't know the woman
"Uhm, Mrs. Diaz"
"Hello Mrs. Diaz, is there anything I can help you with?" She asked the woman
"We just want to invite the both of you to have lunch with us. By the way, this is my daughter, Shaina. She told me to invite you because she's friends with Lisa" Mrs. Diaz explained
"We aren't friends" Lisa calmly said
Mrs. Diaz was stunned by Lisa's words. But then she smiled and said
"Shaina said you were classmates so I thought you're friends "
Mrs. Manoban knows the temperament of Lisa so she understood her words
"Mrs. Diaz, thank you for the courage to invite me and my daughter, to have lunch with you, I would love to however last week I already booked a schedule for us this afternoon. And I want to be just the two of us today because it's a special day. I hope you won't mind? I'm sure there's always be a next time, right?" She politely declined the invitation
Mrs. Diaz was disappointed but she understood. She smiled and nodded her head " Of course. Next time we should schedule it. Uhm, we should go first. Congratulations again Lisa" after saying that, she left with her daughter who was disappointed as well.
Mrs. Manoban and Lisa went to the restaurant and enjoy the lunch
"I'm really proud of you, darling. You really made me so so happy. I am so lucky to have a daughter like you. By the way, have you made up your mind which school you prefer to attend next school year?"
"I need some time. I would think about it this whole vacation and I'll tell you once I came up to a decision"
"Hm, okay. Do not stress yourself because of it. Do not spend your whole vacation over it. There are many great schools nearby. You can choose which of them you'd like. But this time, all you need to do is relax and enjoy the vacation."
Lisa who is eating, nodded in response.
After eating lunch, they decided to head home.
"I'll go to my room and change" Lisa said
"You go and rest. I'll have work to do"
Lisa went to her room, bathe and lie down on her bed. She is thinking what to do for the whole vacation. However, she could not came up with something to do. While thinking deeply, she was unaware that she already dozed off to sleep. When she woke up it's 5 o clock in the afternoon so she headed downstairs and passedby the kitchen to see a note
"I'll head out. There's a food in the fridge"
She sigh and eat the food in the fridge. She does not know what time does her mother will be home. After eating, she stay on the living room, turned on the television and watch a movie. Afterwards, she watch a series. It's past 8 in the evening she did not noticed the time and resume the series she's watching. By the clock turned 10 pm, she heard the front door clicking and she saw her mother entered
"Why haven't you gone to bed? Have you eaten?"
"Yes. I woke up late. Have you eaten, mom?"
"Not yet. I'll eat after taking a hot bath. Join me for dinner if you're hungry again"
"I'm not. After watching, I'll go up and rest"
"Alright, do not stay up too late"
Lisa nodded and finish one more episode before she went back to her room.
Next day when she woke up in the morning
"We don't have training today?" Lisa asked
"I'll give you this year's vacation to rest. In the past years, we did not stop training. You deserve atleast a month to rest. But only this month, so you have peaceful time to decide which school you go next year. Next month, we will resume the training before the school starts"
"But I don't have anything to do. I will be bored, mom"
"You've been so obsessed in training. You need to rest. You've really improved quickly in all aspects so it'll not be a problem even we stop training for the whole year" teased her
"Mom! Don't scare me" glared at her mom and her mother laugh heartedly
"You will rest this month. I'll give you one month. End of discussion"
Lisa nodded and sigh defeatedly.
