A few months later, the kids got busier with their studies so that's how it's been since the school started. After her classes ended, Lisa went to Jennie's school and wait for her outside every day then they will wait for Mrs. Manoban to pick them up. That's the routine five days every week. And as for Mrs. Manoban, she is busy with her work as well that there are times she came home late.
"Mom, there will be a Parent and Teacher conference this Friday, would you like to attend?" Lisa said while washing the dishes after lunch
"Whether I like it or not, It's my responsibility to attend, Lisa"
"But if you don't want to..."
"Are you hiding something from me?" Her mother raised her eyebrow at Lisa
"Of course not. It's just that, I want you to rest, mom"
"I can rest after attending the conference. I'm still young, Lisa. I don't get sick easily"
Lisa nods and shrugged her shoulders. After finishing the dishes she sat on the living room and entertain herself by watching comedy movies. Jennie went upstairs to freshen up. And her mom is in the study room to do some work.
After an hour, Lisa noticed Jennie is still in her room so she turned off the tv and went upstairs. Upon entering she asked
"Hey, why aren't you coming downstairs?" She found Jennie writing in a slambook
"I'm answering this book. It's from my classmate"
Lisa sat down on her bed and caresses Jennie's hair gently
"Do you want me to help you?"
"No, thank you. I'm almost done"
After fifteen minutes, she's done answering, then she put it back inside her bag and went to lie down on her bed
"Do you want to watch a movie? Let's go to the living room" Lisa asked
Jennie look at her then move to place her head on Lisa's lap
"I want to sleep, can you read a story for me?"
"In broad daylight? The sun is still up this time, Nini"
Jennie look at her with a puppy eyes
"Fine"
So Lisa started reading her a bed time story while caressing her hair. And Jennie began to enter her dreamland. Lisa just let her head rest on her lap. She look at her little kitten sleeping soundly and peacefully. She smiled to herself
I will take good care of you.
I promise.

Jennie woke up and when she open her eyes she saw a beautiful brownish gray doe eyes staring at her so she stared back and blink her eyes innocently. Until Lisa realised she's awake and said
"You're awake. Let's go and get something to eat"
The cute little kitten nods her head and sat up then move to Lisa and hug her waist
"What are you doing?" Lisa was shocked by her actions
"Can you carry me downstairs?"
"What? I can't. You are a big girl now. And you're heavy."
The little girl look up and show her gummy smile
"Okay" she entangled her arms and stood up
The two went downstairs at four o clock. Lisa went to get some food and drinks from the fridge then they both sat in the living room
"What do you want to watch?" Lisa asked after she turned on the tv
"Mickey mouse"
"Okay" she sigh and look for the Disney channel
Jennie move to her side after she sat down then put her head on her chest, put her legs on top of her legs and hug her by the waist.
She wants to cuddle.
Lisa put her arms around Jennie and carress her head in return. The little kitten seems satisfied. She look up, smile and kiss Lisa on her cheek then turn her head to watch again. The older one was stunned then shook her head in helplessness.
She really is a baby.
Still a baby.
Her baby. Sigh.
Suddenly she thought about when she gets older and eventually she will have her own life, own needs and wants until she will have her own family. She felt a pang in her chest. She shook her head for having that though. She is still young and innocent. She just wanted to cherish the time when she's still like this, sweet innocent angel. She doesn't want any of it to change. She unconsciously tightened her arms around her little kitten like she would disappear otherwise.
