As soon as I saw the girl who walked through the portal with Amethyst, I was pretty sure she was the one. I knew she was the one who the Oracle and Temple predicted would come.

I walked over to the girl. She had jet-black hair, warm brown eyes, freckles, and a small smile that lit the room.

Her clothes, though. They needed work. Dressed like a human, she would get nowhere in this world.

I smiled at her warmly, hoping to encourage her, but as soon as she looked up at my face, she yelped.

"What?" My voice was tinged with a bit of hurt.

"Y-your eyes," she stammered. "Is that your normal eye color?"

I was confused, and I let it show. "Yes?"

The girl blinked. "And that's just... normal to you?"

I had no clue what she meant. White is a perfectly normal eye color. At least, in the Immortal Planet it is. And that's when it hit me. This girl wasn't from the IP.

I exhaled. "In Immortals, pigment works differently. I have no idea how it works on your planet, exactly, but here, your eyes can be any color, as can your hair."

This seemed to put the girl in a shock. Why, I didn't know. She'd been brought to a new planet, and she hadn't blinked an eye. But a new eye color stunned her so much that she yelped.

I went back to smiling warmly, like I'd practiced.

I led her and Amethyst back through the town, weaving through the animals littering the floor and the occasional Immortal here and there.

"Is this your whole population?" The girl's voice piped up.

Amethyst answered her. Pointing to the animals on the floor, she answered, "No. They're all in their homes since it's cold today."

The girl looked horrified. "They're in the animals?"

I shook my head. "No. They're in the animals' collars."

She crossed her arms. "So, what? You all just decide to place collars on the animals?"

I nodded.

She muttered something unintelligible under her breath.

I led them all the way through the palace and into Town Center.

A few shops lined the streets, a restaurant was in the back, and a few resting areas scattered around.

I settled the girl and Amethyst onto a bench, and then I closed my eyes and opened my hand. I felt paper fall into it, as well as a pen.

The girl inhaled sharply, but, to her credit, didn't ask any questions.

I put my hand into position, then asked her, "what's your name?"

She narrowed her eyes at me, suspicious. "Kira," came the answer.

I smiled and wrote that down.

"Okay, Kira." I put my paper and pen down. "Do you have any questions?"

Knowing the girl's name now made everything ten times easier.

Kira put on a smile. "Yeah. Many."

I waved my hand in a get-on-with-it gesture.

Kira breathed deeply. "First- where am I?"

I nodded. Good first question.

"You're in the Immortal Planet. It's five galaxies away from yours. This galaxy's name is Magiverse. It's got thirty-two planets in it."

Kira stared at me. Regaining her composure, though, she asked, "Okay, next- am I one of you?"

I smiled. "Yes."

Shaking her head, she forged on. "Why am I here? I mean, you guys left me on Earth for fourteen years."

I started to explain.
"Look, you're something called a Humanborne. That means that when you were a baby, the Queen of Spirits- Mother of Oracles- my mother- prophecized your future. The immortal Royal Council must have either not liked your prophecy or they thought it amounted to nothing," I cringed at my wording, "causing them to launch you from the IP- our planet, aka, the Immortal Planet. Humanitarians are just Immortals that know nothing about themselves, live a human life- on Earth, and were cast from our planet as a baby. Only a few of them are able to come back here, for a few reasons. But it always has to be decreed by the Immortal Royal Council."

Kira breathed in, looking upwards. "Who's in the Royal Council?"

Me and Amethyst shared a look.
"Immortal Royal Council," Corrected Amethyst. "Well, right now the people in the Immortal Council of Queen Embella; her in-command, General Seir; Seir's brother, Minister Jeil; the huntress, Huntress Couitel; the Spokeswoman, Reyina; and the Interspecies Rep, Gwennie."

Kira blinked. "Um. What?"
Amethyst and I laughed. "You'll get it soon," I promised.

I picked back up the paper and pen. "Okay, now I have some questions for you. First: Do you have any swordsmanship practice?"
Kira looked at me like I'd lost my head. "No. Why would I?"
Amethyst shook her head and rolled her eyes at me.
I sighed even though that was the answer that I had expected. Jotting that down, I continued.
"Okay," I said carefully, her flaring eyes signaling that she was annoyed. "What about first aid skills? Do you know those?"

She calmed a bit. "Yes," she answered, not even hesitating. "I know CPR and first aid- all the basics. Bleeding, bandaging, defibrillator usage- that stuff."

I smiled and wrote that down, sealing the paper shut with the clip of the pen. Kira frowned.

"Only three questions?" She asked.

"Yep," I confirmed.

Shaking her head, Kira stood up. "I want a tour."

I took Kira to IP Central. She was thrilled about the jeweled bricks- bricks made from precious jeweles to illuminate the light that our dim sun provides.

Kira insisted on stopping to pet every small, medium, and large animal to make cute faces at her. She pleaded to collect the scattered pines, insisting that her planet didn't have pink, purple, and blue trees. I said she must be crazy.

She dipped her toes in the lake, but then refused to walk barefoot around the planet.

Kira also agreed to eat at Bargers~ Soups and Pastries, and when the waitress came out, Kira gasped.

Of course, the waitress was a demon. So when Kira saw her- Kira being a Humanborne- she had a natural reaction.

The demon appeared to be a succubus. Maroon skin, pink-ish eyes, and black hair. A long barbed tip ended her tail.

When Kira fainted, I knew this was going to be a long day.
