I stirred awake. I looked around and concluded that I'm in Sunoo's room and it's probably late because the sun still hadn't rose yet.
Sunoo laid beside me with his arm protectively wrapped around my arm. I smiled at this. Although most people would say that Sunoo is a no-nonsense type of person, due to the nature of his job, Sunoo has always showed his caring side to me. Ever since I first met him.
He began to lightly stir in his sleep, so I rubbed small circles in his arm trying to soothe his worries, then he drifted back into a peaceful sleep. Soon after, I slipped out of bed to find something to snack on in the kitchen. To my surprise, the light was on and I could see the back of someone's head sitting at the bar.
I walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator before turning to see who was sitting there.
"Care for a drink?" Jay sat at the kitchen table with a tall bottle of whiskey.
He looks like he drinks whiskey. I think to myself. After a few seconds of deliberation, I decided that a drink after today's events wouldn't hurt.
"Sure." I closed the refrigerator and pulled up a seat next to him. He poured me a glass and slid it over to me. I looked at it for a second. "Did you poison this or something?" I asked. He grabbed the glass sliding it away from me.
"If you don't want it you don't—"
"Nooo! I was just kidding! Give it back." He handed it back to me as I took a sip. I giggled thinking about today.
"What's so funny?"
"Vodka for breakfast, whiskey for dinner." I said. "I haven't had anything else today. Jay laughed at this."
"Do you know how fucking insane that sounds." He held the smile on his face for a moment.
"You have a nice smile Jay, you should smile more often." On command he wipes it off of his face. I blew out a puff of air.
"Why are you so resistant to me?" I complained grabbing the whiskey and filling up my glass. I gulped down the contents.
"I don't like..." He thought for a second. "you." I rolled my eyes.
"But why not? Our first meeting was decent, so why all of a sudden?"
"I don't like the way you look." He stated plainly. I tilted my head to the side, confused.
"You don't like me because I'm ugly? I literally look the same as when we first—"
"No. You're not ugly." He interrupted with a straight face. Now that I really look at him, he looks like he's really drunk. His face was slightly flushed pink and his speech was a little slower.
"Then what is it?" He took a breath as if he was about to answer.
"If you can go show for shot with me, 10 rounds, then I'll tell you."
"Oh my gosh, Jay, you're just like a kid." I complained.
"If you can't do it you could've just said that." That awoke the competitive spirit within me.
"Okay Jay, you're on." He filled up both of our cups and we began throwing them back.
|10 shots later|
"I'm done sugarcoating shit. So, I'm gonna be honest with you." Jay nodded his head.
"Go for it."
"You're so fucking stupid. I hate you, you know that right?" I ranted.
"I know." He responded absentmindedly. "I know that better than anyone else."
"What are you talking about? You don't know the half of it! You called me a bitch yesterday!" I pointed accusingly at him. He painted a fake shocked expression.
