Tonight is the 9th show of the tour. We are playing the Nationwide Arena in Columbus. Carlyn doesn't know that I have arranged for Josh, Debbie, Tyler, and Jenna to come to the show tonight. We haven't had a chance to hang out together much since the pandemic. So I thought this would be a great surprise for her and the girls. We are all hanging out in the changing rooms waiting to be called for our soundcheck. I'm watching Carlyn, who is currently down on the floor, playing a game with the girls. I don't know how she has the energy. Both Skai and Ava are like whirlwinds. Seriously, they would give Taz, Tazmanian Devil a run for his money. The fact that she's now 24 weeks pregnant and can keep up with the girls amazes me. Her bump is certainly showing now. After tonight's show, we are heading to New York, where we are booked in for an antenatal appointment with Dr Bryan, the OBGYN that Carlyn saw after developing postnatal depression after having We're taking the girls with us so they can see their brother on the ultrasound. I can tell Carlyn is tired, but she just keeps going. She's having trouble getting comfortable in bed as Taylor likes to move and kick around at night. "He babe? Why don't you go and try to get some rest. I'll take the girls with me for soundcheck. You'd like that, wouldn't you girls?" "Yes!!! Can we, Mommy?" "Bren, I'm fine. You can't do soundcheck and keep an eye on the gruesome twosome. Iys too much for you." "Carlyn, there are loads of us to watch them, plus they'll have fun with the band. C'mon, babe. You're not sleeping great because of jnr. Take the chance to rest while you can. Dr. Brendon's orders. " "We do not need to hear about any of your twos kinks. Thank you very much." Laughs Dan. Much to my amusement, Carlyn quickly throws Dan a death stare and her middle finger. "Daddy, what's a kink? Asks Skai. I'm not sure what to say when Carlyn quickly answers.. "Uncle Dan will explain it to you. Daddy needs to go and get his in ears fitted." She says, smirking at Dan, who's suddenly looking a little worried. I can't help laughing as I help Carlyn off the floor. "Dan, how long have you known, Carlyn? You know not to mess with her when she's sleep deprived, never mind pregnant and sleep deprived, Carlyn and I leave the dressing room to the sound of Ava ruling around shouting Kink, and the band laughing and Skai pestering Dan for an answer. "Oh babe, that was cruel, but extremely funny." "Yeah, well serves him right for fuckin with me and taking bets on us." "Are you gonna head back to the bus?" "Only if you're sure you can manage the girls and soundcheck at the same time." "Of course I can. What's the worse that can happen....." "Brendon. This IS our daughters we are talking about.
