With farming to keep me occupied, and avoiding the three loves of my life, well safe to say the day felt short.

I still couldn't wrap my head around the current situation and I missed my farm in the elven lands.

It was two days after my confession to the elves that I received a visitor. I opened the door and was greeted by Vaan who was perched on a nimbus cloud looking stoic.

"Good morning." He said, his eyes went soft as soon as they locked on mine. He jumped effortlessly down from the cloud which dissipated behind him.

"Vaan."

"I've had time to think." He said.

"I'm sorry, Vaan. I didn't want to hurt you-."

Vaan cut me short by pressing his lips to mine. The warmth of his kiss reminded me of our first. I'd missed him over the last two days and I could feel my heartbeat quicken.

"Vaan," I choked out around the lump in my throat.

When my words failed me, I simply hugged him until it finally felt like everything was going to be okay.

With a wave of his hand, the cloud reappeared and he stepped onto it.

"You're all I can think about." Vaan said. "I can't imagine my life without you in it. Just promise me this. That you'll come home soon."

With that, he left.

I watched him disappear in the distance before taking time to tend to the farm. Business as usual.

I received a letter the next day from Wesley. It read:

'My dearest Light,

I have decided, in light of your condition somehow becoming public, to accept responsibility. I would have preferred to do this in person, but my duties prevent me from coming to Sun Haven at this time. I would like for you to consider marrying me as our relationship is public already. Please be in touch when you are able.

-Wesley'

I shuffled the parchment into my bag and made my way through town and into the mines.

A day of hard work was enough to get my head cleared and my frustration out about my situation.

I had gotten myself into this mess. And now it was time for me to accept the consequences of my choices.

Wornhardt was able to pencil me in for a check up that evening. He welcomed me into the clinic that evening and smiled warmly.

"So what brings you to my office today, Light?" He asked, sounding cheerful.

"I..." I averted my gaze from his. "I think I am pregnant."

"Is the father here for this appointment as well?" He asked.

I shook my head.

There was no judgment, he simply brought me into a private bed and closed the curtain.

The exam did not take long and I was signed off with a clean bill of health.

I walked home and tended to the farmwork before calling it a night early. I had a restless night, and morning arrived too soon.

I fed the griffin a berry and set off for the elven forest.

To my surprise, Lucius was waiting for me and helped me off the griffin. He took a breath but before he could speak I held up my hand.

"Come with me, Lucius"

We made our way to the waterfall at the north of my farm. He looked curiously at me.

"I think," I said quietly. "That this is my favorite place to come and think."

Lucius looked around at our surroundings before turning back to me.

"Light." He said after we had enjoyed the echo of the waterfall across the farm.

I stared down at the water, a small rock under the surface suddenly the most fascinating item on my farm.

"I know I said we shouldn't get married at this time..." he shuffled. "I didn't mean for you to leave. I just didn't have the words to tell you what I wanted to say. But now that I've experienced your absence, I realize that I cannot continue in this way. Without you life is like a sky with no stars."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It is empty and lacking... Light."

I felt a smile twitch at the corners of my lips.

"Thank you, Lucius." I said.

He leaned in and kissed a quick peck on my cheek.

"I've had a difficult relationship with my parents. I... want to be a good parent by your side."

I couldn't help but smile.

"I should tell the others of your return." Lucius said.

I was tending to the farm when Wesley approached.

He looked flustered.

"It took you long enough." He finally muttered with a blush. "To come back, that is."

I hugged my arms around him and pulled him close.

"I couldn't stay away." I admitted.

"As you already know by now," he said. "News of your condition spread quickly and there is talk that the child must be mine. With such rumors going about, I think it's only right that we marry right away to-."

"My Honey." I interrupted. "I don't want you to do this out of obligation. You are free to do what is best for you."

"I am not choosing this because I have to. Hmpf, I want to and I wouldn't have it any other way."

I brought my hand to cup his face. "I need time to sort through everything first. "

Wesley seemed to deflate at my words.

"But I promise that I'm not going anywhere this time."

Vaan stopped by a while later. He pressed something into my hand and a kiss to the top of my head before leaving with a wink. I'd known he'd been watching me from above, and it made me sad to see him fly away.
