I was reading silently by my lounge when some repeating knocks taken by my door broke the placid ambience of my entire home and hindered me from what do I am concentrating with. I closed the book I was exploring in and lunged to the door. "Kai! Mrs. Ramirez, the old woman who sells books came to see you, presuming that you'll buy again something from her." Anton uttered as I faced him. "You ain't gonna buy, are you?" He continued. "None of your business." I replied as I get over him and goes out to see Mrs. Ramirez.
"Greetings, my favorite client! Got time to check out my new arrival?" Mrs. Ramirez said while bearing a smile as she opened the box with a bunch of awesome books. I scanned each book and spoke, "Hmm, your hooks are great this time, Mrs. Ramirez." As always, they were kind of strange and weird in a mysterious way which perfectly satisfied my taste.
Once again, I chose four books to be added on my shelves. "Been aimed the good ones! You always got a good taste, young boy..." she stated referring to me as I handed the payment. "Thank you for buying, next time again!" Mrs. Ramirez continued and I thanked her as well. Seeing her left, I picked up my new books and return inside.
Toting the books, I opened my door and caught Anton sitting on my couch with his glaring eyes are tracing me to wherever I go. I put the books on the table and asked, "What?" for he doesn't seem to stop glaring. He took a sigh and responded, "Haven't I told you to rest yourself from books? Look, your eyes are getting worse and your glasses are now thicker." Here we go again...
So, for the information of everyone, he's Anton, older than me, and we're currently staying in our condo next door from each other. Back when we were elementary, he's always there to fight for me whenever I get bullied which eventually led us to be good friends and gradually got so closed like brothers. We both have no siblings which why he always acts as my big brother.
Since I already broke his mood, why not pushing it to the higher level? To tease Anton even more I asked, "What?" again as if I didn't hear him. "Stop playing around, Kairo." he said which had me grinning as I asked, "What?" once more. Pissed, he stood up and left as he leave the words, "You know what, do whatever you want. I won't care."
Without a trace of guilt, I stared at the void on my ceiling as I tried to take off my glasses. And yes, Anton is indeed right, it's worse than my socialization skills. Spreading my eyes, I can see nothing more except for a vague and dazzling mixture of colors. Myopia sucks...
Anyways, I haven't been introduced yet. So, I'm Kairo Khan who is a loner due of some reasons. I always felt that I'm not as likable as any others since I have only few friends and small influentials. With that, my world has been a deep boring ever since forever but thanks to the books which brings colors and spice in this bitter blank world.
I was handing these new books as I arrange them alphabetically in my shelf when one of them caught my attention. This tome of mystery was entitled as 'Red's Secrets' and it possessed some embossed complex curlicues and creative ancient gothic fonts that strongly proven the fact that it was strangely old. I immediately find it interesting since it was cryptically fine as if it's new so I started reading it at once.
