I moaned in pain as I held my head. Why is it hurting so much? I rubbed my eyes gently, and realized how dampy they were. "Is this because of tears? Oh, where am I?"
Just then, I heard the door open. "I'm so happy that you're awake now!" A woman said the moment she reached the bed I am on. She's holding my hand and caressing my face while I'm getting confused. "Who are you?"
"Have you forgotten?" She asked as her tone slowed down. "N-no... I just can't see you clearly..." I responded so she handed me my glasses. I saw a familiar face as I were them on. How can I forget the voice of this woman? "Mom?"
"Son! I thought you were leaving me!" She cried as she hugged me so tight. "Mom, hush now. I'm not leaving you, okay?" I said while caressing her back. "Are we... in the hospital?"
"Yes, you have been comatose for six months already..." mom answered as she moved away and held my hands. "What happened?" I asked as I don't know how I ended up here. "You don't remember?" I shook my head as if I really don't know what happened.
Mom stand up and answered, "Well, none of us know the real reason why you have just slept for a long time. But according to your Aunt Czarren, a day after you arrived in our ancestral home, it was late in the morning and you're still not going out of your room so she checked you in there but you're nowhere to be found. They all searched you in the whole house and finally found you lying on the corridor of the third floor. Based on her, no matter how hard they try to wake you up, you remained unresponsive so they rushed you into this hospital. Unfortunately, even the doctors can't figure out what caused you to sleep for a long time. They suggested to put you in coma and wait until you wake up. Those doctors even told us, you might not wake up anymore but thank god your finally awake..."
"Are you sure you don't remember anything that day?" Mom asked and I answered, "I really don't..." I don't have plan to tell them anything happened that dawn. I'm afraid if they'll find out, they might bring me to the psychiatrist for thinking that portals are absurd...
A moment after, the door was opened and dad is rushing towards me. "Thank goodness, me and your mom was so worried about you." He said as he surrounded me with his arms. "Hey dad, I'm alright! You have nothing to worry about..."
Few days later, I've been discharged from the hospital. With my parents, we returned to our ancestral home. Aunt Czarren and grandma welcomed me with a tightest hug. Then Anton? Of course, he does too. I'm like a brother to him so why wouldn't he?
Days without Angel is like a lifeless state of living. It's like living in a grayscale world. And lately, I got too lazy to read some books anymore, even Anton noticed it. Despite of the fact that it's hard, I still held myself together and forced to be happy knowing that if Angel would see me like this, she will be sad as well.
Meanwhile, the school year I've left was already ended and guess what, I haven't graduated. So, I was forced to repeat the year level. Well, it's okay. Besides, it's the last year and this time, I'll try to socialize and interact with other people.
I just rested a few weeks and the classes were once again opened. I decided to transfer in the other university to have a fresh start. Angel had boosted my confidence really so I must take use of it.
I became more active in school and by that, I've discovered so many potentials from within me. I just realized that by stepping out of your comfort zone, you can be the best version of yourself. And it will never be too late for it. At first, it may be hard but as the time goes by, things will just flow easier and smoother in your favor.
I also tried to be friendlier and socially responsible. As a result, it got me surprised that many students admired me in a short period of time. In fact, a lot of girls liked me, which had me reminded of Angel's words back when she praised me. Maybe she's really saying the truth though... I feel like my face is heating up as my blood gather in it, and my stomach is doing that unbearable twisting motions every time those words sprout in my thoughts.
Among those admirers, there's this girl that was so persistent. Sometimes, I even doubt that she's Angel. But no, she's not definitely her, she's just so flirty and Angel wasn't alike. And her age is just same as mine so it's impossible that she and Angel are the same person.
That girl was so unremitting. Although I have told her the fact that I already have my wife, she just doesn't believe it. She keeps on asking about the ring, marriage certificate, and others. So annoying...
After the colorful and amazing college journey, I finally graduated with highest grade ratings for business management. It's just a little disappointing that I was labelled as an irregular student so I can't be able to have that Latin honor I always dreamed but at least I still got a bunch of other special awards.
