A few hours of looking for their Impala later lands the group in a garbage dump, their ride about to be taken apart for scraps. Soon after acquiring their vehicle again they set off to gain more distance before nightfall.
“I can’t believe that we made it out of there without any casualties to the group, I think we can all appreciate that sudden blackout when the old man tripped”
Blade stated before taking a sip of his energy drink.
“Yea, how lucky can we be”
Fang agreed, sitting on the hood of their car.
“I mean we would be a lot more lucky if we didn’t get into that situation in the first place though”
Blade stated, looking up at the crimson colored sky.
“Indeed but it was only a matter of time before we came across them. Instead perhaps we should be thankful that we found out early on that we can handle such a stressful situation”
Harry stated, peering over his shoulder to Rubin who had been very quiet since they left.
“Are you alright R.R”
Harry questioned, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Ye-Yea, just, just a little shaken up is all…That, that thing”
Rubin begins, his features contorting into a fearful and angered expression.
“Yeah, that thing was a nightmare come to life”
Harry says sitting down next to Rubin, still keeping his hand on his shoulder comfortingly.
“It’s going to be okay Rubin, we’ll figure out what Daniel did to him…we’ll save David, I promise”
Harry continues, patting Rubin on the head.
“I hope so”
Rubin says leaning into Harry’s side.
“I really hope so”
“Eww, you two act like an old married couple. Quit it old farts”
Blade says leaning on the car's back door.
“How about you quit calling us old! So what if we act that way, R.R’s my best friend”
Harry spat out, sending everyone else into a frenzy of laughter.

A few days had passed and the group hadn’t seen so much as a drop of water. Starting to lose hope Blade began to whine saying thing like
“Ughhh, it’s so hot”
Or
“Kill meeee”
Or even
“I should have just stayed to die in the Getaway Forest”
After about half an hour of Blades whining, Harry and Rubin got tired of it and they pulled over on the side of the road. The two proceeded to walk to the trunk, took out some rope and duct tape, then duct taped his mouth shut and tied up his limbs so he couldn’t take it off.
“That’s gotta shut him up. Let us continue on our way”
Rubin stated, sighing a breath of relief as he stretched his sore limbs.

A few hours of driving later, the group thanked their lucky stars as they approached a town off in the distance.
“Thank Racldel, I was beginning to lose hope”
Harry commented as they entered the town.
“Indeed, we will stop here for about a week to gather supplies. After we have acquired the equipment we need we will fill up the car and set out again. Staying stagnant for too long won’t end well.”
Rubin stated, parking the car in an abandoned looking alleyway. As the group left their vehicle Fang casts a vanishing spell that only the adults of the group could see through, according to Rubin’s instructions, and set off into town.

“Wow! Blade look at those pretty lights”
Fang exclaimed looking up at the night sky, filled with lanterns of many different colors.
“Yea I see them, they're called lanterns. Apparently this areas famous for them”
Blade responded looking up at the sky.
“Lanterns, I wanna make one”
Fang excitedly said, looking around for supplies.
“Heh, come on I’m pretty sure that the children of this town are still over there making some”
Blade stated, grabbing Fang’s arm to lead her.

“Blade, Fang! You two scared us, what are you doing over here”
Rubin yelled as he and Harry ran up to the two teens.
“Sorry for worrying you two Mr. Robertson. Blade brought me over to make a lantern! Look how it turned out”
Fang explained grabbing her lantern to show Rubin.
“Oh, I see…It's quite lovely Fang. Would you like help sending it into the sky”
Rubin asked with a slowly calming smile.
“No that’s fine Mr. Robertson, Blade told me how to do it”
Fang stated, walking a bit away from the others. As Fang lit the lantern, it slowly ascended to the sky.
“How lovely…we should get to sleep now everyone”
Rubin said, beginning to walk toward a motel.
“Okay Mr. Robertson”
Fang said, skipping along next to Blade. As the group flooded into the motel one thing stuck out to them, animals, dead animals. Except they weren’t just stuffed, they were different parts of animals frankensteined together, creating an abomination creature.
“Creepy much”
Blade commented, looking around almost disgusted.
“Now, now Blade. Who knows, maybe this is apart of the town's traditions. There are places where things such as these are put on display for the public to see afterall”
Rubin stated, putting a hand on Blades shoulder.
“Says the one shaking”
Blade replied, glancing at Rubin's hand. As the group continued off to obtain a room for the night, a feeling washed over them, not drowsiness, not fear, no not quite, more like…security, easiness. They were surrounded by frankenstein creatures, they had just been driving for days on end, and they were being chased yet they felt calm. It was only a matter of time before the scientists caught up to them, why were they so calm?
“Greetings, I assume you want a room”
The lady at the front desk questioned.
“Then go ahead and take your pick, everything is free here”
The lady continued. The group merely smiled at that and headed off to find rooms.
