~Trusting Blade~

"Rise and shine you two"
Harry says as he pulls back the curtains waking the two teenagers.
"Can't you be a little nicer about waking us up man"
Blade says with a groan.
"You should learn to respect adults a bit more before you get yourself killed by one"
Harry responds back, anger obvious in his voice.
"You are absolutely right, forgive my companion Mr. Alpha, he's just not much of a morning person"
Fang says, trying to calm Harry's bubbling rage.
"Cannot say it will be easy Mrs. Fang Cross, I mean your companion has not even told me his name. How can I forgive him when I have no idea who he is, at least I have a name to put to you"
Harry says sneakily trying to get more information on the boy.
"Black-haired companion mind telling Mr. Alpha your name"
Fang asks, obviously ordering him to say his name. Blade looks at Fang, then at Harry, and back at Fang once more before groaning as he says
"Fine but if this backfires I'm blaming you, deal?"
"Deal"
Fang responds with a smile
"My name is Blade Bloodwell"
he said as politely as he could possibly muster.
"Nice to meet you Blade,"
Harry says with a smile.
"I've made breakfast, you may eat while I go do something real quick"
Harry says walking away.
"Okay"
Fang says smiling, as Fang walks over to the food Blade stops her saying
"Let me check to make sure it's not poisoned just to be safe. Given we don't know too much about this man we can’t fully trust him yet."
Fang nods, Blade checks the food, and gives the all-clear to eat. A few minutes later Harry returns more relaxed than he was when he left.
"What's got you in such a relaxed mood old fart"
Blade asks, leaning against the wall beside the window of the guest bedroom.
"First of all watch that tongue of yours and secondly, I now know that you are no threat to me or Mrs. Fang Cross"
Harry responded.
"What gave it away, is it the fact that the girl isn't scared around me, that background check you left to do...or was it my little secret"
Blade asks, preparing himself in case he has to run.
"The last two, Thomas Lakewell or do you not plan on going back to that name"
Harry answers looking out the window, seeing Fang outside having the time of her life chasing others around in a game of tag.
"I will never go back to being a Lakewell, I legally changed my name to wash my hands of anything involving that past"
Blade says, turning his head to look outside as well.

"Very well Mr. Blade Bloodwell, but I must ask, do you plan on telling Fang of Thomas Lakewell any time soon?"
Harry said.
"I am just sticking with Fang till she's with someone who I know can protect her. Telling her of Thomas is unnecessary to doing that"
Blade responds back, still looking at Fang playing outside.
"Why do you care what happens to her"
Harry asks, now looking at Blade.
"...She, reminds me of when I was a child, alone and hurt"
Blade states, looking at Fang with a despaired look on his face.
"I understand that all to well. You may not relize it but you have a kind heart Mr. Blade Bloodwell"
Harry says with a warm smile, as Blade returns the smile he slowly states
"Thank you for you're kind words"
With a small pause Blade continues on, his face contorting back into a frown
“But they aren’t true, I’m not kind. I do whatever it takes to survive, the only reason I am helping her out is to feel a little better about myself”
As Harry opened his mouth to speak once more the door of the room swung open, revealing the topic of their conversation. Fang smiling ear to ear with leaves and branches sticking out of her hair took only a moment before she said
"I had so much fun! I never thought that I could make trees grow out of the ground but after I saw the children around me do it, I tried it and, boom! A tree sprouted out of the ground right beneath me!"
Laughter filling the air, Blade and Harry, slow as sloths, attempted to calm their laughter to no avail.

As Harry ceased his laughter Fang looked at the pair in front of her, her eyes brightening
“Did you two become friends when I was gone?!”
She spoke, her smile even wider than before
“Indeed Mrs. Fang Cross we have”
Harry responded, wiping away a tear that had escaped due to his previous laughter.
"No we haven't stupid old fart,"
Blade exclaimed with a hint of embarrassment. Fang still smiling, states
"Mr. Alpha said yes first so I'm believing him Blade."
"Oh come on Fang! I'm not lying, we haven't!"
Blade says a little angry.
"Whatever you say Blade but I'm still believing Mr. Alpha"
Fang says jokingly. Continuing on Fang asks
"Putting that aside, Mr. Alpha, do you know a man named Rubin Robertson?"
Harry's eyes shine as he hears the name and questions
"Yes, I do. How do you know him?"
Fang points to the open door where a tall figure is standing as she says
"He's right there and is asking for you to explain who we are."
Harry  says nothing more before running up to the man and hugging him exclaiming
"It's so good to see you, Rubin"
"It's good to see you as well Harry but do you think you can explain who they are?"
Rubin responds, hugging Harry back with a smile.

Harry after a few moments let go of Rubin, looking to the two teenagers, then back to him
"The girl is Fang Cross and the boy is Blade Bloodwell. I brought them here after checking to make sure they're trustworthy."
Rubin looked to Fang after hearing her name, sadness and amazement in his eyes
"I see. It's nice to meet you two, you are both welcome to stay as long as you wish."
He stated, a sad smile plastered to his face
"Thank you Mr. Robertson''
Fang says nugging Blade silently telling him to say thank you as well.
"...Thank you...I guess"
Blade says reluctantly, crossing his arms and looking away from everyone
"You are quite welcome Blade Bloodwell."
