I and Bruce talk for a while exchanging stories of our lives.
"Wait, so ya ma's a doct-uh?" Bruce asks.
"Yep doctor Julia Miller," I say smiling.
"Nice, my ma was an accountant"
"Oh thats cool. Oh, wanna hear a story about when I was younger," I chuckle.
"Let me guess ya bit a kid,"
"Yes I did but thats not the story,"
"Oh what is it?"
"Okay so I was walking through my school and for some reason one of my teachers decided to decorate her door for Halloween, when I had just transferred that day, with something hanging down from the door frame. When I went to walk through the door I couldnt see if I needed to crouch so I ran right into the door frame. The teacher looked at me when she heard the thud and Im pretty sure she had a heart attack when she saw how tall I was,"
"How tall are ya?"
"Back in the human world I was about 6 foot 4 inches (ca. 193 cm) tall and now umm well since they can grow about 13 feet (ca. 4 m) long maybe... 7 or 8 feet (ca. 244 cm),"
"Jeez when ya get old enough ya and the chief are going to be the same height"
"You serious?"
"Sure as the Mariana trench is deep,"
"Oh that must be your equivalent to-," Bubbles again come out of my mouth as I try to say the word.
Bruce laughs as I watch the bubbles come out of my mouth. I start to laugh too covering my mouth.
"Ya know most of us would be confused. Ya seem very calm."
"Oh yeah my mother actually um told me who I am,"
"Really?"
"Yeah actually so I've known about the fact Im half eel monster,"
"Wow yar ma is a nice woman,"
"She really is"
I smile but then panic when I see a weird looking creature crawl in. It was a yellow octopus with blue colored rings on it. I look at it as it crawls towards me and I panic.
"What the -" Bubbles come out of my mouth. "What in the Mariana trench is a Blue Ring Octopus doing in here,"
"A WHAT?" Bruce looks at me scared.
He looks at a guard who looks at me scared. The guard walks out and shouts something to the other officers. A few other officers walk in and I see the chief with a cup and paper. I look at him and then the cup and paper.
"Umm I can do that if you want,"
"Are you sure Carson?"
"Yeah my mom taught me how to,"
I take the cup and put it onto the octopus and put the paper slowly under it. I pick it up and go over to the small window to the outside. I remove the paper and let it outside the cell and watch it climb down the wall outside and leave.
"Bye, little guy," I watch it leave making sure it gets onto the ground before looking away.
I turn around and looks that the chief and hand him back the cup and paper. I smile at him and he pats me on the back. He nods at me with a smile and takes the cup and paper back.
"Good job kiddo, not everyone takes seeing a Blue Ring so calmly"
"Is not being scared of them a Slime-scale trait?" Another officer asks.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Both you and the chief are not scared of them at all," The officer responds.
"Oh I am scared of them one bite from those and a human is dead," I shudder.
"Really?" said the officer.
"Yeah and it is weird how some humans will just pick them up and think nothing of it then suddenly they are dead," I say.
"Humans: always doing something stupid" The chief sighs and shakes his head.
"Chief wasnt your ex-wife a human" Bruce says taunting him.
"Yes, yes she was Bruce. Why do you have a problem with the fact I was married to a human?" He scowls at the mention of his ex-wife. I assume that something happened between the two that caused the divorce and it still effects him to this day.
"No sir Im half human myself I just think it's a little odd how you talk about her like she's so evil," Bruce says looking at the chief smiling.
"Thats personal information and you dont need to know," The chief says a scowl on his.
"Oh come on the kid probably wants to know why you hate your ex-wife so much and honestly I do too," Bruce continues to taunt.
"You dont need to say anything if you dont want to sir," I say.
"Thank you, Carson, I appreciate that," The chief replies.
"Oh come on the other guards left and I know the guppy over there wants to know even if he says he doesnt," Bruce says pointing to me.
"Guppy is slang for kid Carson just so you know," The chief looked at me and smiles.
"Thank you sir," I respond smiling back.
"Alright since youre so insistent my ex-wife, Julia Miller, she was well cheating on me with her co-worker," The chief sighs as my eyes widen.
"Hold on, hold on, did you just say Julia Miller? As in doctor Julia Miller. As in my mother. You're my dad? I thought you died!"
