3.| Blossom

Selene didn't know how she got in this predicament. One minute she frozen in fear the next, she was running towards the spirit boy trying to save him.

She couldn't just not help someone who's standing right in front of her.

"What even is that thing?!" She tries to ignore the grotesque monster that was still chasing the boy.

She takes notice that its body was like a frog or a toad. More like a gigantic frog. But its head was a skull that was weirdly shaped.

Her heart was racing 1,000 mph. As she runs, she unconsciously shed the Oleander flowers in order to not harm the boy with the poisonous substance.

She wasn't even sure she was going to make it to the boy in time.

Though it didn't matter what she thought because she will save him. She was only a feet away from the boy when he falls flat onto his face.

He lets out a groan as he sits up weakly. He looks back at the horrendous monster terrified for his life.

The thing had its mouth wide open about to consume the spirit. The monster was so close to him about to devour him, all the boy could do was cry.

"C-Crap...!" Selene dives towards the boy, bringing him into her arms: they roll out of the way of the monster's attack just in the nick of time. She looks down at the boy worried.

"Are you okay?" Selene looks over the boy to see if he was injured. The spirit only had a small cut on his arm. He nods weakly and thanks her with grateful smile.

"Don't thank me yet. We gotta get away first" She hastily puts the boy on her back while trying to avoid the thorns that decorated her skin, before the monster could recover.

She starts running again.

It didn't take long for the monster to recover. She feels the boy slipping down her back so she had to bounce him up to keep him from falling.

She looks back to see the monster just standing there. She didn't notice the monster getting ready to catch its next target.

The frog cocked its head and eyed the pair. Its legs tensed, and its body tensed, ready for action.

Suddenly, its legs shot out, propelling it into the air with a tremendous leap.

The monster sailed high, and its mouth opened wide, ready to snap up its next meal. The movement was fluid and graceful, and it all happened in an instant.

"C-Crap..!" Selene mange to barely dodge but not completely unscathed.

That thing's teeth snagged her shirt and a bit of her skin as well. She yelps as she feels the burning sensation of the wound.

The monster had landed mid-air which shocks her. It was as if the air was a ground to it.

"I didn't expect to find a delicious meal when I was getting a bit of a snack" the creature speaks in its nasally voice. Selene cringes at the awful sounding voice.
