Kaia and Andrea paced along the sidewalk, the gentle breeze of the wind flowing through Andrea's ashy blonde hair. Kaia was hungry so she went and got some food while Andrea waited in the parking lot.
Big mistake.
Andrea saw a figure in the dark parking lot stumbling over towards her, she had a bad feeling about this person. She tensed, making sure to stay alert. The figure kept on staggering to Andrea's way. Andrea got her pocketknife and pepper spray out, ready to lunge when needed to.
She walked quickly to where Kaia is while keeping an eye on the seemingly drunk man. She didn't like interacting with people like them, every single interaction she had with a drunk person was horrible, and she has been around drunk people for quite a while. The small pocketknife gleamed in her hands, she made sure to not make any sudden movements.
Where was Kaia? Andrea tried to look for Kaia through the café's window, and she was nowhere to be seen. She eyed the drunk guy as he got closer, she hid the pocketknife behind her leg and the pepper spray in her purse, making sure its in an easily accessible pocket.
"Hey there, pretty lady." The drunk guy slurred; an unsettling smile plastered on his face.
Andrea cringed and felt like throwing up, she couldn't believe an old, balding, drunk guy was hitting on her right now. Andrea put her pocketknife back in her purse, deciding the drunk guy was harmless.
When Andrea decided to walk over to Kaia after making sure the guy wouldn't hurt them, the guy suddenly grabbed Andrea by the arm. She flinched, after a second or two she snapped back and fought to get away from his grasp.
"Piss off, asshole." Andrea threatened, but the guy wouldn't budge. And Andrea started panicking. She tried to reach for her pocketknife or pepper spray, but he threw her purse on the ground, her pocketknife falling out of her purse gleaming in the dark. All she had to do was get it and threaten the man to leave her alone, with her knife in her hand. That should make him leave her alone.
She lunged out to get her pocketknife, but the drunk guy noticed almost immediately. He brought his glass of beer above his head. Andrea's eyes widened; he was about to hit her. She rolled on the ground, avoiding the glass and picking up her pocketknife up while she was doing so, making sure the drunk guy wouldn't notice it. She hid the pocketknife inside her sleeve, carefully making sure to not cut her wrist.
The drunk guy tried to swing again, but she was quicker. She cut his shin and palm, making sure his walking is slowed and he could only use his left hand; Andrea noted a while ago that it was his non-dominant hand. She needed to get Kaia and herself out of here. This was supposed to be fun hangout day damn it. And where was Kaia? Surely the café line wouldn't be this long.
The drunk guy swung his glass of beer clumsily, clearly not used to using his left hand. As the guy was swinging around blindly Andrea suddenly noticed flashes of blue and red and deafening sirens coming from somewhere. The police were here. She immediately hid her pocketknife; two policemen already started rushing to arrest the drunk guy. Andrea saw a familiar figure beside the police cars.
Kaia.
