"Mr. Ellison, respectfully, this is ridiculous." Andrea said, trying not to scream her lungs out.

"Miss de Santis, you slashed the poor guy's shin and palm." Mr. Ellison simply answered, clearly lacking basic knowledge.

"Out of self-defense!" Andrea yell talked. If she had to spend another second talking to Mr. Ellison she will go batshit crazy.

"Dawn High doesn't accept violent behavior, you know this. The thing with the library monitoring was your warning, Miss de Santis. But cutting a guy and bringing around a weapon everywhere you go is bound for a suspension."

Andrea imagined flipping the table and the chair Mr. Ellison was sitting on, maybe the concussion he might get will bring back some lack of sense.

"A suspension will permanently be on my record, I won't be able to get into a good acting gig, ever. Is that really what you want from a student that goes to your school?" Andrea tried to persuade Mr. Ellison. She wasn't necessarily good with words but to act was her dream, and a suspension would rip that dream to shreds.

"Suspension for two weeks, starting next Monday." Mr. Ellison said, clearly not persuaded by Andrea's pathetic attempt of a reason to not suspend her.

She bit her tongue to make sure she wouldn't go off at Mr. Ellison, although she desperately wanted to. Instead, she smiled, making sure it looked fake and walked outside of Mr. Ellison's office, 'accidentally' making some of the papers on his desk fall to the ground. The whooshing sound of pieces of paper falling to the ground making Andrea smile to herself. That was one thing she heard that was worth being in that stupid office.

Andrea saw Kaia waiting for her sitting on a bench nervously biting at her nails. The second they made eye contact Kaia stood up and swiftly walked over to Andrea.

"How did it go? What happened?" Kaia asked a bit too fast, the words merging in Andrea's head.

"I got suspended for two weeks, my suspension starts next Monday." Andrea replied, eyes to the ground to avoid looking at Kaia.

"What? That's ridiculous. You were defending yourself and it was clear the guy was bothering you. You weren't in the wrong in any way." Kaia said in an annoyed voice. "I'll go talk to Mr. Ellison."

Andrea put her hand in front of Kaia, a barrier between Kaia's body and Mr. Ellison's office.

"There's no use, what you said was basically what I said, and he clearly isn't budging. You don't need to waste your time on me to talk to someone with no working braincells, I'll be fine."

Kaia looked defeated and hurt, but she nodded anyways, and Andrea was glad. She didn't want to talk about her suspension anymore, she was tired and needed to sleep.

But this night wasn't a night of sleeping because Andrea clearly couldn't catch a break.

The ground shook beneath them, small pieces of dust falling to their hairs, the school moving ever so slightly. Andrea looked at Kaia in shock and Kaia's expression mirrored Andrea's.

There was an earthquake. They needed to evacuate the school.
