Chapter 4: A Moment of Vulnerability
A few days skipped Nathalie packed her things up and was ready to go back to work since unfortunately for her, Gabriel let her have a few days off and her brother also agreed to his sister's boss's offer. Nathalie couldn't deny she liked spending time with her niece.
Time skipped again and this time she was now in the mansion and was about to open the door since she texted Gabriel that she was on her way
Gabriel's POV:
As I stood there, holding the bouquet of red roses and the box of white chocolates, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. This was the moment I had been waiting for, the moment to finally express my true feelings to Nathalie.
"Nathalie," I began, my voice filled with a mix of nervousness and determination. "I have realized that you are the missing piece in my life. You have been there for me, supporting me, and making me feel alive again. I love you, more than words can express."
Nathalie looked at me, her eyes shimmering with surprise and uncertainty. I could see the emotions swirling within her, and it made my heart ache. I wanted nothing more than for her to reciprocate my feelings.
"Nathalie, I understand if this is unexpected for you," I continued, my voice filled with sincerity. "But I can't deny my love for you any longer. You are the one who brings light into my life, who makes me believe in love again."
Nathalie's POV:
I stood there, my heart racing, as Gabriel poured his heart out to me. His words were filled with such vulnerability and honesty, and it took me by surprise. I had never expected Gabriel, my boss, to feel this way about me.
A whirlwind of emotions swept over me. Part of me wanted to embrace his confession, to let myself be swept away by his love. But another part of me hesitated, still haunted by the guilt and pain of my past.
"Gabriel," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I... I don't know what to say. This is all so unexpected....but what about Emily? "
Gabriel's smile faded a little and his face fell slightly, but he nodded, understanding the weight of my emotions. "Emily is now not my priority, I'm not replacing her, you are not a replacement but I'm giving space for you in my heart but I understand, Nathalie. Take your time. I just wanted you to know how I feel."
I could see the sincerity in his eyes, and it touched me deeply. Gabriel had always been there for me, supporting me through thick and thin. And now, he was baring his soul to me, offering his heart on a silver platter.
"Gabe," I finally spoke, my voice filled with a mix of gratitude and uncertainty. "I need time to process all of this. But I want you to know that your love means the world to me. Let's take things slow and see where this journey takes us."
Gabriel's POV:
A mixture of relief and hope washed over me as Nathalie spoke her words. I understood her need for time and space, and I was willing to give her all the time she needed. The fact that she was open to exploring our connection was enough for me.
"Thank you, Nathalie," I said, a soft smile forming on my lips. "I respect your need for time, and I promise to be patient. Just know that I am here for you, no matter what."
Nathalie nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Thank you, Gabriel. I appreciate your understanding. Let's see where this journey takes us."
And with those words, we both knew that our lives were about to embark on a new and uncertain chapter. But together, we were ready to face whatever challenges and joys awaited us. Love had found its way into our hearts, and we were determined to embrace it, one step at a time.
