Wheein was contemplating who she could have spent the night with yesterday. The only clues she had were the fact that she wasn't feeling anything weird between her legs. Her neck wasn't covered with any sort of mark, and that her suit jacket was missing. In simple words, nothing. Both her blood pressure and irritation were sky high as she drove home.
Things were worse when Wheein drove against the traffic early in the morning. The car in front of Wheein came to a sudden halt, which annoyed her. Stupid people should not be anywhere on the road.
Wheein's brows furrowed. She sounded her car's horn in protest against the car before her. Come to think of it, the vehicle was familiar. But she could not picture anything in her head.
She was going to dial her wife's number when she realized. Whatever it was in her drink impaired herr memory. It took her more than a minute to even figure out the first digit of Hanmi's number. She even almost forgot her own passcode.
“Hello? Love? I've been looking for you since last night. Where are you?!” Hanmi asked questions as soon as she answered Wheein's call.
“I don't know. I have no fucking idea. I can't remember anything..” Wheein admitted.
Hanmi's eyes narrowed. Oh, Wheein was mad, alright. In their entire year of marriage she had never heard her swear. Until now, that is.
“I thought you were in Jeonju. But when I sent someone to check your car wasn't even there.”
“I was in Jang's hotel. I'm not sure about what happened. I'm only certain that someone put something in my drink. Hey, move it!” Wheein felt the urge to flip off the driver in front of her. Why was she so annoyed?
Hanmi laughed despite worrying for her wife. “You sound angry. I'm willing to bet that it was a drug.”
“How am I supposed to be calm? Why would you even think I was in Jeonju?” Wheein rolled her eyes and pressed her foot on the brake.
“Because a turf war broke out there. And your tag indicated it.”
“Someone could have taken my tag and drove off with it. You never saw my car in the parking lot?” Wheein was critical when it came to details. She could never let scrutinies appear.
“I had the men scan every inch of the parking lot. They never saw your car. Which is why I thought you had gone to Jeonju.”
“You know I don't leave without saying a word. I know you always know where I am.” Wheein stated. She looked at the traffic lights and saw that it was green. She stepped on the accelerator and drove past the familiar black car ahead of her.
Hanmi's brows crossed when she heard Wheein's response. She could not help but retort, “And I don't keep you in one place. You also know that. Are you insinuating that I wasn't concerned about you? Love, what the hell?”
Wheein groaned in protest. She was already bothered as she was. She did not need Hanmi ranting on her. “Forget about it, alright? My brain is in a puddle right now. I'm on my way to the mansion. Let's talk once I get there.”
A sigh escaped Hanmi's mouth. “Fine. I'll talk to you later. Love you.” She ended the call and placed her phone away. She decided to text her second option and set up a date.
Wheein gripped the steering wheel with all her might. She was suspecting that the owner of that mysterious caller was somehow a part of this. She tried to recall at least a single detail, but alas, she couldn't. Her wife may be right about drugs taking part in this situation.
